What is the knowledge of this human world needed for? What is power needed for and what is wealth needed for? Are things like humanistic love or humanistic family necessary? We must deny them. Fallen human beings are a tribe that has inherited the blood of Satan, the adulterer. We must reject all those things. (188-234, 1989.2.26)

Where did your love line begin? Where was its starting point? It began from evil. The chief instigator of this evil was Satan, the devil. How is he related to this problem? He is the adulterer of love. Human beings were born inheriting the blood and flesh of this adulterer. Then, do we want to receive the adulterer’s love? Did you want to receive the love of the impure lineage inherited from the adulterer? No, you did not. That is the problem. (35-90, 1970.10.4)

Since the vertical and horizontal indemnity, the indemnity of the eight stages was completed, last year, on August 31, 1989, I went to Alaska, the northernmost place in the western world, and conducted the “Ceremony of the Settlement of the Eight Stages.” It was conducted at the northernmost place. Then on September 1, I announced the “ideology centered on the Heavenly Father.” It is the ideology of salvation through love, which we know as the parent-centered ideology. This ideology urges us to love everyone. Satan cannot oppose love. If Satan does not oppose the Unification Church on its way, it will spread worldwide in a flash. (199-157, 1990.2.16)

    Why do you feel tired when you study? It is because you study for yourself. Instead, think that the survival of the thirty million people of Korea depends on the one page or one sentence that lies before you. Study with the mind-set that the addition of one word of vocabulary will save those thirty million people and that the loss of one word will doom the same number of people. Accordingly, with that seriousness offer even more devotion.
    It is not because your memory is lacking. You never forget what happens in an extremely serious moment, do you? Study at the risk of your life. You can feel the beating of your heart when you are serious. In such serious moments, can you forget what you are determined to do? To be forgetful is just a question of degree. (35-38, 1970.9.27)

Non-Attachment to Wealth and Possessions

WEALTH AND POSSESSIONS ARE SHACKLES that chain us to the fallen world. They promote greed and avarice, increasing self-centered desire. The love of money has been called “the root of all evil,” and materialism has become a great obstacle to humanity’s spiritual progress. Traditionally, the path to God has required renunciation of wealth and attachment to material goods. Monks and nuns typically take formal vows of poverty. Yet ordinary people may live free from possessiveness, sacrificing wealth for the sake of a greater good. Some contribute generously to charities; others forgo lucrative careers to care for a sick family member or to go on a mission to help people in need. They find peace of mind and great satisfaction having given up the anxiety of keeping and amassing material things for a life of giving and service.
Father Moon links the religious teaching of non-attachment with his philosophy of true love. He explains that God’s love begins from the foundation of non-possessiveness, while people who are attached to possessions find that their possessions get in the way of expressing love. This principle applies not only to our relationship with God and in daily life with our loved ones, but also to the well-being of nations and this planet Earth.

You Must Deplore the Reality that Your Body Is the Devil’s Dance Hall

    Christianity teaches about True Parents and love. It has taught about “brother” and “bridegroom” in relation to Jesus, and “parent” in relation to God. Since Christianity is completely based on the ideal of the family, it has taught us how to perfect in full measure the family idealized by God. Hence, it could rise above all other religions and unify the world.
    Then who is Christ at the Second Advent? As the True Father and True Mother were lost in Eden, he is the one to come upon the earth as the True Father. He will become as one with God in heart, lineage and flesh, establish the position of True Mother, and form a family centered on this oneness. The Messiah’s family will be the first to live with and serve God. The Messiah solidifies the position of the perfected Adam. The Kingdom of Heaven will be established only after the perfected Adam and Eve marry, live on earth serving God, have sons and daughters centered upon Him, bring forth His clan and live on earth together with them, and then, finally, move on into the heavenly world together with God. (282-51, 1997.3.10)

There exists our vertical self that enables us to freely relate to vertical love. This is the mind. Until now the nature of mind has remained unknown, even within Buddhism. However, we in the Unification Church do know about it. We depict a spherical ideal with its center defined by a horizontal, vertical and front-to-back love axis. As that spherical ideal operates through God’s ideal of creation there can be no loss of energy running through east, west, north and south. Whenever in operation, only good will come; there will be neither evil nor conflict. (182-258, 1988.10.23)

The Savior comes to the earth to seek his Bride. He needs to find the true woman, thereby connecting vertical and horizontal, and achieve God-centered, unfallen perfection for the first time in history. Through the external True Parents, God the internal Father can come to earth and link us to the road leading Chapter 3 • God and True Parents 2283 directly to heaven. From the outset of history, no one has been persecuted as much as I or faced as much opposition. In one era I had to be persecuted worldwide on the individual, family and tribal levels. The Unification Church tribe must be related to all peoples in all 160 nations of the world through the global association of Blessed Families. That is the work of restoration. We need to first carry out this work tribally, next on the level of a people and then nationally. (176-332)

What will you do with small ships? They will be used for fishing. For the most part, people are interested in fishing, but not so much interested in fishery itself, which is catching fish with nets. In the future, there will no longer be an interest in catching fish using nets, nor in riding on big boats. For this reason, I have built this New Hope. I have designed a boat that can sail on the river, as well as the sea. Now our New Hope is famous for fishing and guiding. It is not a boat that just goes out to the sea. Also, it is easily transferable to any location, simply by using an automobile. (262-240, 1994.8.1)

If you wish to take this boat from here to Florida, you can easily attach it to a car. On the water, it takes a couple of days to sail to Florida from here; but you can drive there in one day by car. It takes about four days from the West Coast to the East Coast by car, but one month if sailing on the sea. The boat was built to ride on the waves, to glide through two types of waves when in water. That is why it was built longer than twenty eight feet in length. It was designed that way because it will not sail properly if smaller. Based on this twenty eight foot long boat, we have also built other boats that are thirtyeight feet, fifty-two feet, ninety-eight feet, and 108 feet in length. The 108- foot long boat can even maneuver out in the rough waters of Alaska, and is perfect for fishing when using its dragnets. (262-240, 1994.8.1)

Your eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and hands are in contact with two roads. When your eyes see for “me” they become the Devil’s eyes; when your nose smells for “me” it becomes the Devil’s nose, and when your ears hear for “me” they become Devil’s ears. You should rather see with eyes that care for others, care for the nation, the world, and heaven and earth—in other words, you should see with God’s eyes. Those eyes of yours do not exist for your successful career… they exist for the sake of others—to save the nation and liberate humankind. Since we understand that where there is bones; flesh can be added, we have to remember that we should follow wherever there is true love. Amen. [Amen] Let me go back to my point now …. We have a simple conclusion. Your mind and body should be a comfortable dwelling place for God. You should unite your mind and body. That’s it.

   Where is the point of unity? It is where you make 100 percent of love to your spouse whom you have been longing to meet for thousands of years, the embodiment of loving God you have been dying to embrace for thousands of years. The first one is in the position of Satan and the second indicates that we should find the original path of love. Therefore, restoration is not possible in the love of elder son ship. It is only possible in the younger son ship of love ….

 Restoration providence does not work in the lineage of the first wives. It works in the lineage of concubines and illegitimate children. Why? They are two kinds of mothers and their children; fallen mother and her children and restored mother and her children. Two mothers cannot go into the kingdom of heaven together side by side. Who is next? Samsung.(Samsung means three stars in Korean. Samsung is the name of one of huge enterprise in Korea) they can not win against the Great Bear. Samsung is only a servant which follows the North Pole that goes around. Or else they must add a name the Great Bear. The Great Bear never changes. It goes into all of the universe and turns around the center, but can Samsung do that? Who is it, Lee Gun Hee of Samsung, can he do what I am doing? All he does is sell el~ctronic products. He does not have any talent to restructure man. Isn’t that so? Does he have a right to bless families? He doesn’t. Only Rev. Moon can do that. If that person dies and is buried in a public cemetery, only the Korean conglomerates will come, but if Rev. Moon dies, conglomerates, politicians, educators, cultural peogle of the world, a few thousands of them will gather. … People here today, if I die will you follow me to that public cemetery in line or not? [We will follow] No, I don’t like that. Now get away from me here. Even if you don’t follow me, people of the world are meant to follow. Even if you do not bring flowers, people of the outside world are meant to even climb over the North Pole covered in snow with flowers and come and meet me with flowers.

So what kind of person will be able to become the disciples of love and in who’s house do you want to live in? Is it the house of Rev. Moon, or Korean conglomerate Jong something’s house or who’s house? {Father’s house) I am not satisfied, with you people. You are a group of beggars. A beggar who sells his father’s name and asks his father for money until the day be dies.   There are people who are not able to obtain the qualifications as father and son and there are many who always ask for something. You second generation, I will get hold of you and put you on the test stage and will see how much you can endure …

   Now God is liberated, True Parents are liberated, so what more is there that I should do? I am now a grandfather … The authority of grandfathers in Korea is symbolized by what kind of pipe? How do you call it in dialect of Kyong san do? A long pipe, and with the pipe when you hit the floor, the metal part of it makes a loud noise and it shakes the whole district. When the grandfather hits the floor with it to call the grandson, the grandson will come. It is a signal. That’s what a grandfather does. These days in America, thousands of ministers are getting blessed. Because of that, all the stubborn groups which have opposed me until now, all the people who have oppose me, all the people who have prayed for Reverend Moon to die, all of their eyes are popping open….. All their sons have been blessed in the Unification Church, but how can they stand that? They say, “Our God is different, and Reverend Moon’s God is different.” They didn’t know that Reverend Moon’s God is seeking to find the family. Don’t even try to talk about dream-like stories of saving jerks like that and bringing them into heaven and setting up the family of the Kingdom of Heaven. Since they’re like this, won’t they be ruined? If they’re like that and are not ruined, it’s false.

Were you right or not to believe in Unification Church? [We were right.] Were you right to believe? [Yes.] Reverend Moon is reviled, so did you think you would be reviled more than Reverend Moon or did you think you would not be reviled? [laughter] If the mother and father are being reviled, and the sons and daughters are not reviled, then they are not filial children; they are a group of robbers. You must understand the holiness of True Parents. They existed even before the creation of the world. The realm of the ideal of True Parents must be realized by connecting all the .things of creation which were made with the substantial realm of True Parents, by absorbing all of them, by sacrificing all of the things of creation.
