Will there be struggles in heaven?
What would we do in that eternal world
without struggles? That world does not
end after a year but goes on for eternity.
Wouldn’t it be dull then? What would
you do there? Would you live alone, or
would you have relationships with all
existing beings in the spirit world? With
what will you establish those relation-
ships? With true love. In that case, what
is the essence of that world? When you
eat, you should do so feeling love; you
should wear clothes feeling love; you
should live feeling love; and you should
travel around embodying God’s love.
That love should be God’s essential love.
Without doing so there will be no har-
mony. A person with a character resem-
bling God’s essential love will occupy a
high place in the spirit world. All exist-
ing beings in that world will live in har-
mony based on such a character. It is a
world where such people can live in har-
mony. (201-97, 1990.3.11)

Even I, the teacher of the Unifica-
tion Church, will die, but against what
background will that come to pass? I
will embrace the people and country of
Korea, and die for the sake of this world.
If the Korean people unite and lay down
their lives for the sake of the world, that
will open the path of being able to live
together with this world. That is why I
seek that path. (34-192, 1970.9.6)

Hebrews 11:1-32

What should the attitude of a person of faith be? He must have a heart that feels impatient. Because you have the connection, you must know that you cannot help being impatient. What is Heaven waiting impatiently for? Heaven longs not for a person of faith but for a person who practices the truth in life. I long to be a person who practices the truth in life rather than a person of faith. Heaven longs not for the kingdom of hope but for individuals who can live in that kingdom.

Today, we hold up a word called faith and wait eagerly. However, we must lead a life of faith beyond that. In other words, we must become members who live with Heaven, people who live with Heaven, and the church that lives with Heaven. We must lead a life of faith in which we can enjoy ourselves and sing and be able to return the glory. Heaven waits eagerly for this.

What was it that God impatiently anticipated from our numerous ancestors in the course of history, after establishing a word called “faith” in front of them? You must know that He longed not for the individuals of faith themselves, who were fighting in their respective places, but for people who could live with Him, having remained until the last days. God waited impatiently for one who could fade away for the sake of faith, who could resurrect after dying for the sake of faith, and who could escape the realm of death and sing of the joy of resurrection in the realm of life, calling God “Father” in the everlasting world. God waits eagerly for such an individual. Thinking of this, you must become the people who know how to long for the self within you for whom He eagerly waits. You must strive to seek out such a self and meet him. Continue reading “Heaven Longs for a Person Who Practices Truth in Life”

You Will Be Faced With Difficulties With the Cross and Persecution

We started in 1978, so this is now
the fourteenth year. This work has been
going on for fourteen years. If all of you
had only done this work with a desper-
ate heart! How great it would have been!
If that had happened, then everything
would be connected through the tong
ban breakthrough activities, centering
on the Unification Church. Centering
on the Unification Church foundation,
we organized everything down to the
village, so that we could breakthrough at
the tong ban level. Centering on the men,
we held conferences in the dong (dis-
tricts), tong and ban (local communities
and home neighborhoods). We passed
out Divine Principle books and a book
called “The Hope of the World” in my
name, to all the 120,000 neighborhood
leaders. Maybe even some of you that
are here today also received these books.
Despite the fact that all this was done,
the men still all failed their responsibil-
ity. They were relaxed and thought this
was just some kind of game. Therefore,
because the men failed their responsi-
bility, the women must accomplish it.
Whatever happens, they must do this.
The women must not just be worried
about the livelihood of their own homes.
Chapter 3 • Why We Must Do Tong Ban Gyeokpa Activities 2077
Please notice that I’ve mobilized women
centering on the Women’s Federation.
Is this mobilization due to the power of
human beings? In the beginning, when
I first said that I would have an initia-
tion conference for the Asian Women’s
Federation of World Peace (AWFWP),
everyone’s eyes went like this, and our
own Unification Church members put
up opposition saying women can’t do
anything and that AWFWP women
can’t do anything. But then True Moth-
er stepped forward and the opposition
subsided. Seeing the atmosphere, the
members couldn’t oppose it any further.
Therefore, I declared the arrival of the
era of women. I made this declaration
because the time was ripe to do so. Wait
and see if the age of women comes now
or not. (233-111, 1992.7.31)

Externally, the Unification Church
may look like it is following in the foot-
steps of Christianity, but people do not
know the history of struggle that we
underwent internally to separate our-
selves from Satan. In order to bring
humanity back to be embraced in God’s
bosom, we have paved the way of salva-
tion through the eight stages, starting
with the individual and the family. The
Blessing of 3.6 Million Couples opens
the path that everyone in the world can
follow in order to achieve this salvation.
Then the expansion of the Blessed Cou-
ples can occur on a global scale.
The next step for us to take is the
Blessing of 36 Million Couples. This
will be easy. The most difficult task for
us was the accomplishment of the Bless-
ing of 3.6 Million Couples. After passing
over the hill that marked the forty-year
course, we need to find and inherit the
lost realms of the Old and New Testa-
ments. Since the rights of the first born,
parents and king were lost, we need to
pass through the process of restoring
them; hence, I must fulfill the responsi-
bility of the first born. (286-70, 1997.8.6)

Hebrews 11:1-32

What did Jesus mean by saying, “I have accomplished all”? Jesus had accomplished his mission only to a certain limit through his death in the course of indemnifying Heaven’s sorrow. In other words, Jesus knew that if he died, an indescribable sorrow would enter into the heart of God and be connected to it. The miserable path of death would be left behind to the throng of people following him. Because he knew that the foundation of spiritual salvation would be established with his death, he was able to go beyond his death with a manly mien.

If this kind of feeling bubbles up in your mind, you are the person who owns heaven and earth, even if you have nothing. Heaven and earth will appear as your comrades, even if you do not have any other. For that reason, you must feel that the way of true faith is the way on which you proceed linking the history of relations. It exists where you proceed to build the tower of relations with Heaven.

If we feel sorrowful when we part with a friend, how much more so should we feel when the relations we have with Heaven are disconnected? You should be able to feel that is the moment of historic sorrow, the moment of grief for heaven and earth, and the moment of sadness for humanity and the heavens.

If one felt this, he would have to feel his inadequacy, regardless of how much he might try not to, and he would not be able to control the outbreak of tears. In addition, as you have learned through the Divine Principle, the position in which we individuals stand today is one in which we have to dissolve the han of heaven and earth, even that of spirit men in the spirit world, and liberate them. You have been set on the altar of such a cosmic-level fate. You might feel infinitely sad if you let yourselves think about being sacrificial offerings in this manner. However, if you know that the sorrow of the numerous spirit men, the numerous people and beings of heaven and earth who are watching you, is greater than your sorrow, you would not allow yourself to be disappointed in the course of marching toward Heaven. You would not be able to sigh for grief. Continue reading “You Will Be Faced With Difficulties With the Cross and Persecution”

Hold Fast with a Firm Faith and Love

Happy 21st Anniversary to the couples Blessed in the 3.6 Million Couples Blessing on November 29, 1997 at Robert F. Kennedy Stadium in Washington, DC!

Revelation 2

This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Ephesus:

I am the one who holds the seven stars in my right hand, and I walk among the seven gold lampstands. Listen to what I say.

I know everything you have done, including your hard work and how you have endured. I know you won’t put up with anyone who is evil. When some people pretended to be apostles, you tested them and found out that they were liars. You have endured and gone through hard times because of me, and you have not given up.

But I do have something against you! And it is this: You don’t have as much love as you used to. Think about where you have fallen from, and then turn back and do as you did at first. If you don’t turn back, I will come and take away your lampstand. But there is one thing you are doing right. You hate what the Nicolaitans[a] are doing, and so do I.

If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will let everyone who wins the victory eat from the life-giving tree in God’s wonderful garden.

Acts 3

The time of prayer was about three o’clock in the afternoon, and Peter and John were going into the temple.[a] A man who had been born lame was being carried to the temple door. Each day he was placed beside this door, known as the Beautiful Gate. He sat there and begged from the people who were going in.

The man saw Peter and John entering the temple, and he asked them for money. But they looked straight at him and said, “Look up at us!”

The man stared at them and thought he was going to get something. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold! But I will give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, get up and start walking.” Peter then took him by the right hand and helped him up.

At once the man’s feet and ankles became strong, and he jumped up and started walking. He went with Peter and John into the temple, walking and jumping and praising God. Everyone saw him walking around and praising God. 10 They knew that he was the beggar who had been lying beside the Beautiful Gate, and they were completely surprised. They could not imagine what had happened to the man.

Hebrews 11:1-32

11 Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see. It was their faith that made our ancestors pleasing to God.

Because of our faith, we know that the world was made at God’s command. We also know that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.

Because Abel had faith, he offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. God was pleased with him and his gift, and even though Abel is now dead, his faith still speaks for him.

Enoch had faith and did not die. He pleased God, and God took him up to heaven. That’s why his body was never found. But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and that he rewards everyone who searches for him.

Because Noah had faith, he was warned about something that had not yet happened. He obeyed and built a boat that saved him and his family. In this way the people of the world were judged, and Noah was given the blessings that come to everyone who pleases God.

Abraham had faith and obeyed God. He was told to go to the land that God had said would be his, and he left for a country he had never seen. Because Abraham had faith, he lived as a stranger in the promised land. He lived there in a tent, and so did Isaac and Jacob, who were later given the same promise. 10 Abraham did this, because he was waiting for the eternal city that God had planned and built.

11 Even when Sarah was too old to have children, she had faith that God would do what he had promised, and she had a son. 12 Her husband Abraham was almost dead, but he became the ancestor of many people. In fact, there are as many of them as there are stars in the sky or grains of sand along the beach.

13 Every one of those people died. But they still had faith, even though they had not received what they had been promised. They were glad just to see these things from far away, and they agreed that they were only strangers and foreigners on this earth. 14 When people talk this way, it is clear that they are looking for a place to call their own. 15 If they had been talking about the land where they had once lived, they could have gone back at any time. 16 But they were looking forward to a better home in heaven. That’s why God wasn’t ashamed for them to call him their God. He even built a city for them.

17-18 Abraham had been promised that Isaac, his only son,[a] would continue his family. But when Abraham was tested, he had faith and was willing to sacrifice Isaac, 19 because he was sure that God could raise people to life. This was just like getting Isaac back from death.

20 Isaac had faith, and he promised blessings to Jacob and Esau. 21 Later, when Jacob was about to die, he leaned on his walking stick and worshiped. Then because of his faith he blessed each of Joseph’s sons. 22 And right before Joseph died, he had faith that God would lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. So he told them to take his bones with them.

23 Because Moses’ parents had faith, they kept him hidden until he was three months old. They saw that he was a beautiful child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s orders.[b] 24 Then after Moses grew up, his faith made him refuse to be called Pharaoh’s grandson. 25 He chose to be mistreated with God’s people instead of having the good time that sin could bring for a little while. 26 Moses knew that the treasures of Egypt were not as wonderful as what he would receive from suffering for the Messiah,[c] and he looked forward to his reward.

27 Because of his faith, Moses left Egypt. Moses had seen the invisible God and wasn’t afraid of the king’s anger. 28 His faith also made him celebrate Passover. He sprinkled the blood of animals on the doorposts, so that the first-born sons of the people of Israel would not be killed by the destroying angel.

29 Because of their faith, the people walked through the Red Sea[d] on dry land. But when the Egyptians tried to do it, they were drowned.

30 God’s people had faith, and when they had walked around the city of Jericho for seven days, its walls fell down.

31 Rahab had been a prostitute, but she had faith and welcomed the spies. So she wasn’t killed with the people who disobeyed.

32 What else can I say? There isn’t enough time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets.

Prayer

Please look at us with compassion. Father, we sincerely wish and desire that You guide us to the position where our minds and bodies can be recognized as Your body and limbs.

Many people are setting out now toward the goal of resembling the heavenly character. However, when we think of how few true sons and daughters there are who go forward with the heart of the Father, we cannot help being concerned.

It has been six thousand years since You called and began searching for us. As the owner of all creation, You have called and sought us in person. When we think honestly whether we come forth in front of Your knees as the fruits of joy who are acceptable to You, we cannot help feeling remorse for all of our past thoughts and deeds. We feel we must reflect on all our normal activities. Please forgive us for being in a position to feel remorse.

The original countenance of the person Heaven longed to see was glorious and proud. Nevertheless, we have not become people of such countenance, the true original countenances upon whom You can call. Since we find ourselves in a position to lament over ourselves, Father, we sincerely wish and desire that You allow us to at least have an ardent mind of remorse over having no excuse to offer You. Keep Faith In Jesus in Humble and Difficult Circumstances

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1996

Today, the United States is consid-
ered the principal nation of democracy.
Yet a time will come when America will
decay because of money, and her people
will no longer care for democracy. The
current situation in Korea also reflects
this fact. Though democracy itself is a
good system, at present many Koreans
are engaged in scheming and slandering
others because of money. They are even
fighting against others to seize power.
Can that be considered a democracy?
What is currently taking place is a phe-
nomenon resulting from misrule by the
privileged class. (21-156, 1968.11.17)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 798

Why did God create human beings?
He needed a horizontal base in dimen-
sional space. Countless cells can divide
and emerge from this dimensional and
spherical space. Therefore, God needed
space because He wanted to produce
the people of the Kingdom of Heav-
en through the bodies of Adam and
Eve in the human world. Our married
life becomes the factory for producing
those people. People have been talking
loudly without knowing these things.
What kind of pretence is that? They are
completely blind, yet still boast and brag
about themselves. In the spirit world,
such things will be exposed at once. The
teachings I have given will unfold in the
spirit world as a reality. (233-89, 1992.7.30)

Let Us Understand God, Who Wanted to be Proud

Rev. Sun Myung Moon
February 8, 1959

Genesis 1: 24-31

Moses did not lack for anything in his palatial life, yet he rejected it all and did not take pride in it. On the contrary, he wanted to boast of the Israelites, who were moaning and suffering before Heaven. Furthermore, he wanted to be proud of the land of Canaan with which Abraham was blessed, the land that the seven Canaanite peoples had claimed. His desires were in tune with the wishes of God, who wanted to raise a chosen people of Israelites in the land of Canaan and be proud of them. Therefore, God put Moses at the helm of the people and led them to that land. We have to understand that this was the situation of God.

When Moses appeared before the 600,000, no one among them understood his innermost feelings. Most of them opposed him. However, through many miracles and calamities, God led the people to the realization that Moses was the one to guide them to the garden of pride in which they could dwell. They were thus able to fathom Moses’ heart, and God was able to lead them out.

The Israelites should have believed in Moses as the one sent by Heaven and should have been proud of him until the end. When he came with heavenly authority and struck the palace of Pharaoh, they rejoiced that he was their Heaven-sent leader. Yet when they faced more humble and difficult circumstances in the wilderness, they lost faith in him and discredited him, saying that he was not fit to lead the people. Prayer

The Father has guided us to this place, we who have been wandering without knowing our path. We prostrate ourselves before the holy presence of the Father with wounded minds and hearts.

Although we have not prepared anything to give You, please lead us and grant us Your compassionate grace. Father of love, please hold our fatigued hands and embrace our bodies, which have no place on which to lean. My Father, we ardently wish that You let this be an hour when You give us the love of the eternal world and instruct us in the name of the Father of hope for which we have yearned. Ephesians 2

19Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
