The Unification Church is the third
son. The Unification Church was actual-
ly born as the most precious son of them
all. The Christian civilization is now the
only thing that can digest western cul-
ture into a unified substance and bring
harmony in Europe and to North and
South America. Yet, the Christian civi-
lization of the West is crossing over to
Asia. Then in which nation will Asia con-
form to God’s efforts to bring unity and
order through Christian thought? Japan
worships a diverse group of gods. China
and the Soviet Union have been commu-
nized. Korea remains alone within the
enclosure of Christianity even though
its various denominations are in con-
flict. Although it cannot be planted as a
seed tree, it is needed as firewood.

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1165

In the cases of both Cain and Abel,
and Esau and Jacob, the brothers were
supposed to exchange positions after
their birth. To achieve this, the coop-
eration between mother and child was
always necessary. Eve protected Abel. In
the case of Esau and Jacob, Rebecca was
on Jacob’s side, and helped him through
her acts of deception. Nevertheless, no
one knows why God still granted the
blessing to them. Jacob was born as a
twin and later restored the position of
the right of the eldest son. Yet this still
didn’t restore the lineage. Then at the
time of the birth of Perez and Zerah,
when they were about to emerge from
Tamar’s womb, they fought each oth-
er and switched positions. The second
child pushed aside the first child in order
to be born first. You should understand
the deep significance of these actions
that signify moving closer to the lineal
standard of the original parents. (120-167,
1982.10.13)

Spirits of the Departed

2. Helping the Spirits and Gaining Spiritual Merit

Choosing an auspicious day and making
    purifications
you prepare the sacrifices.
You present them filially,
in spring, summer, autumn and winter,
to your ancestors, the former kings…
The spirits come,
and confer on you many blessings.
    Book of Songs 2.1.6 (Confucianism)

Outside the walls they stand, at the crossways
and outside doors, to their own home returning.
But when a plenteous meal is spread, of food
and drink, no man remembers them [the dead].
Such is the way of things.
Wherefore do those who have pity on their
kin make offerings due, of choice food and
drink at seasonable times, saying, “Be this a gift
to kinsmen, may our kinsmen be well pleased
with it!” Then do those earth-bound [ghosts],
kinsmen, gather there where a plenteous meal is
spread of food and drink, and fail not to render
thanks, saying, “Long live our kinsmen, thanks
to whom we have this gift! To us this offering is
made; not without fruit are they who give!”
For [in ghostland] no cattle-keeping, no
ploughing of fields is seen. There is no trading
there, as on earth, no trafficking with gold.
We ghosts that have departed there exist on
what is given here. Even as water gathered on
high ground flows down into the marsh, so are
offerings given here on earth of service to the
ghosts…
Of a truth, wailing and grief and all manner
of lamentation avail not anything. It helps not
the ghosts that kinsmen stand lamenting thus.
Moreover, [if] this gift of charity is bestowed
on the Order, it is bound to be of service [to the
ghosts] for a long, long time.
Thus this duty done to kinsmen has been
declared: unto the ghosts it is no mean offering
of worship; unto the Brethren of the Order it
is strength conferred; unto yourselves no small
merit has been won.
    Khuddaka Patha, Tirokudda-sutta (Buddhism)

The rice and water no longer are offered,
the ancestors also must fall dishonored
from home in heaven.
    Bhagavad-Gita 1.42 (Hinduism)

All these [saints of the Old Testament Age],
though well attested by their faith, did not
receive what was promised, since God had fore-
seen something better for us, that apart from us
they should not be made perfect.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so
great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside
every weight, and sin which clings so closely,
and let us run with perseverance the race that
is set before us.
    Hebrews 11.39-12.1

It is sufficient to know, in this case, that the
earth will be smitten with a curse unless there
is a welding link of some kind or other between
the fathers and the children, upon some subject
or other—and behold what is that subject? It is
the baptism for the dead. For we without them
cannot be made perfect; neither can they with-
out us be made perfect. Neither can they nor
we be made perfect without those who have
died in the gospel also; for it is necessary in the
ushering in of the dispensation of the fullness of
times, which dispensation is now beginning to
usher in, that a whole and complete and perfect
union, and welding together of dispensations,
and keys, and powers, and glories should take
place. 35

On the day you are really born as
God’s son…. Amongst the innumerable
stars, do you think there is a realm of
diamond stars or not? Think about it.
You want to have diamonds, don’t you?
You can’t say there isn’t a star made just
of gold. It is possible. How rich God, our
Father, is! Have you ever thought about
that? We can travel this infinite uni-
verse in a moment. Are you interested?
Are you truly interested? If so, what we
need to do is observe the normative laws
in accordance with God’s commands:
“Don’t do this!” or “Do that!” This is pos-
sible only when you observe what God
says to do or not to do. It is only logical
that this becomes impossible if you live
according to your selfish desires.

Richard: We have to observe God’s commandments in order to stay in his will. The number one commandment is sexual purity before marriage and fidelity within marriage. See this teaching in True Families Gateway to Heaven .

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1187

The Ceremony of the Settlement of
the Eight Stages signifies that the histor-
ical course of vertical indemnity and the
course of horizontal indemnity that went
through the stages of individual, family,
people, nation, and the world. That is the
vertical and horizontal courses consist-
ing of eight stages are completed. Due
to this, the right of eldest son has been
restored, and the course of indemnity for
all humanity is abolished. That is what
I have done by holding this ceremony.
The right of the eldest son is restored; the
Parents are embracing all humankind.
Thus, an end is brought to the history
of war and struggle that was necessary
in order for the right of the eldest son to
be restored in the realm of parental love.
The time has come when indemnity is
not needed and we can reach harmony
in love. In order to achieve this, I had to
hold the Ceremony of the Settlement of
the Eight Stages. By holding this cere-
mony, the Parents forgave both the elder
and the younger son, so that next we can
enter the age of the realm of forgiveness
for the fallen parents. (193-173, 1989.10.3)

Richard: Satan’s world is in its death throes; the current seeming advance of evil will not stand.

Spirits of the Departed

Souls who have passed on do not really leave us.  They remain with us as more than mere memories. the souls of people whom we loved on earth continue to seek our welfare us much as they are able. the souls of people we wronged on earth harbor resentment against us and would avenge themselves if given the chance. thus, the dead are not really dead. they may be living with us. sometimes sensitive people can call them down to earth, as in the bible when Saul employed a medium to call up the ghost of the prophet Samuel.
Most people are ignorant of spiritual influences on the living, yet they are real. the philosopher Immanuel Kant once said, “the human soul stands even in this life in indissoluble connection with all immaterial natures in the spirit world, that it reciprocally acts upon these and receives impressions and help from them.” they include not only spirits of the dead, but also nature spirits—sprites, fairies and their ilk. the first peoples know them well, and their shamans are trained to sense their presence and employ them for human benefit. their influence can be benign, or it can be beneficial, as the muse that inspires great art or the sudden insight that begets scientific discovery and invention. spiritual influence can also be terribly destructive; for example, the passions that inflame age-old conflicts into modern-day ethnic violence.
Intercourse between heaven and earth works both ways. spirits can be mobilized to assist earthly people for a righteous cause; conversely spirits need help from earthly people to resolve their own difficulties. Many religions promote the idea that the living should make offerings to benefit the dead; the Latter-Day saints even promote baptism for the dead as a way to bring them closer to the perfection of the end-times. in this regard, Father Moon teaches a doctrine of “returning resurrection,” by which spirits descend to assist the living, and the living in turn assist the dead by shouldering the burden of their unfinished business and resolving it.

  1. Spirits Among Us

Do not say, “They are dead!” about anyone who
is killed for God’s sake. Rather they are living,
even though you do not notice it.
    Qur’an 2.154

The scent of the sakaki leaves is fragrant;
Drawing near, I see countless kinsmen
Assembled all around,
Assembled all around.
    Kagura-Uta (Shinto)

The light which these souls [of departed saints]
radiate is responsible for the progress of the
world and the advancement of its peoples. They
are like leaven which leavens the world of being,
and constitute the animating force through
which the arts and wonders of the world are
made manifest… These souls and symbols of
detachment have provided, and will continue
to provide, the supreme moving impulse in the
world of being.
Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh 81
    (Baha’i Faith)

Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up
for you?” He said, “Bring up Samuel for me.”
When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out
with a loud voice; and the woman said to Saul,
“Why have you deceived me? You are Saul.”
The king said to her, “Have no fear; what do
you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I see
a god coming up out of the earth.” He said to
her, “What is his appearance?” And she said,
“An old man is coming up; and he is wrapped
in a robe.” And Saul knew that it was Samuel,
and he bowed with his face to the ground, and
did obeisance. Then Samuel said to Saul, “Why
have you disturbed me by bringing me up?”
    1 Samuel 28.11-15

Those who are dead are never gone:
they are there in the thickening shadow.
The dead are not under the earth:
they are there in the tree that rustles,
they are in the wood that groans,
they are in the water that runs,
they are in the water that sleeps,
they are in the hut, they are in the crowd,
the dead are not dead.
Those who are dead are never gone:
they are in the breast of the woman,
they are in the child who is wailing,
and in the firebrand that flames.
The dead are not under the earth:
they are in the fire that is dying,
they are in the grasses that weep,
they are in the whimpering rocks,
they are in the forest, they are in the house,
the dead are not dead.
    Birago Diop (African Traditional Religions)

“The path of the hekura is visible, luminous;
there arises from it something like a fiery breath
that makes the air heavy and almost unbreath-
able. One does not see the hekura, one feels the
wind they raise when they move. During the
hunt from which I just returned, I scattered the
hekura who were in me.”
“Ordinary men are unable to recognize
them. Yet the wind tells us that they are there.”
“I see them only at night, when I close my
eyes.”
“One can see them only then.”
“Their paths become luminous for me. I
am sleeping; they approach and summon me
to answer them. They suddenly wake me by
shaking my arm or pulling on my ankle.”
“Those who are not truly shamans do not
hear them. He who is really a shaman hears a
kind of buzzing, ‘bouu…’ during his sleep, and
this song echoes, rebounding off the celestial
vault. He opens his eyes and says to himself, ‘I
am going to see them now!’ The parrotlets sing,
‘bre, bre, bre,’ he knows that it is they. A cool
breeze then glides along his legs…”
    “I saw the hekura walk on a rotten branch;
I was passing right underneath.”
“Indeed, it was they; but they were not
friendly toward you. The strong odors of the
smoking grill, the smell of singed hair, of scorched
meat near the fire, all this drives them off. Yet
they did seem inclined to approach you.”
“They give off a heady perfume; it comes
from the dyes and the magic plants they carry
with them. Suddenly, I stopped smelling these
aromas, my nostrils no longer perceived them.”
“Therefore when one is at the end of the
initiation, it is advisable not to hunt. If a flock
of toucans takes flight and one of them lands
near you, then all the others immediately follow
suit. Be sure not to frighten them: stare at them
fixedly and continue on your way; you be sure
that they are hekura. Of course, there are those
you drove away during the hunt; but don’t be
overly concerned, I foresee that those were not
the good ones. The others remain, who came
into your breast while you were lying in your
hammock. Those are truly yours, they are in
you.” 33
    Yanomami Shaman’s Instruction
    (Native American Religion)

And when the last Red Man shall have perished,
and the memory of my tribe shall have become
a myth among the white men, these shores will
swarm with the invisible dead of my tribe, and
when your children’s children think themselves
alone in the field, the store, the shop, upon the
highway, or in the silence of the pathless woods,
they will not be alone. In all the earth there is
no place dedicated to solitude. At night when
the streets of your cities and villages are silent
and you think them deserted, they will throng
with the returning hosts that once filled them
and still love this beautiful land. The White
Man will never be alone.

Protecting and Guarding the Chastity of Men and Women Is the Same as Protecting the Universe

The Richard Urban Show:
#68 The Family Rooted In Absolute Sexual Ethics-Part 6-with Jamal Johnson
#67: Who Can Be Trusted on Voting Integrity: President Trump or Joe Biden?

Cheon Seong Gyeong 325

What is the difference between true
love and authority? In true love, you
give love and then forget that you have
given it. What is the line between good
and evil? Evil is where something is giv-
en with the intention of receiving all
the benefit for oneself, and goodness is
where, even though you give, you forget
that you have done so. Even in a house-
hold, those who serve others more stand
on the good side, and the one who lives for
others most becomes the master of that
family in the end. Let us say there are ten
friends. Which would be the best among
them? The one who cares for all the oth-
ers. Then the ten friends would make the
one who was taking care of them the cen-
tral figure and serve him. This is how the
universe is inherited. (141-252, 1986.2.26)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1289

Protecting and guarding the chastity
of men and women is the same as pro-
tecting the universe. This is because the
order of love between men and women is
the basis of the universe.
The sexual organ is more important
than the head. You cannot find the ori-
gin of true love in your head. You can-
not find the origin of true life in your
head. You cannot find the origin of true
lineage in your head. Where is this ori-
gin, then? It is in the sexual organs. Isn’t
that only too true? Everything can be
found in the sexual organs – life, love,
and lineage. It is the main palace of love.
You can find the root of life there. It is
the same in the case of the lineage. The
sexual organ is the most precious part
of the human body as well as the human
world and history of humanity. Without
it, reproduction of humankind would be
impossible. (203-104, 1990.6.17)

Angels

2. War Among the Angels

Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his
angels fighting against the dragon; and the
dragon and his angels fought, but they were
defeated and there was no longer any place for
them in heaven.
Revelation 12.7-8

Say: It has been revealed to me that a com-
pany of the jinn gave ear. Then they said, “We
have indeed heard a Qur’an wonderful, guiding
to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not
associate with our Lord anyone. He—exalted by
our Lord’s majesty! —has not taken to Himself
either consort or a son.
“The fools among us spoke against God
outrage, and we had thought that men and jinn
would never speak against God a lie. But there
were certain men of mankind who would take
refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they
increased them in vileness, and they thought,
even as you also thought, that God would never
raise up anyone.
“And we stretched towards heaven, but we
found it filled with terrible guards and meteors.
We would sit there on seats to hear; but any
listening now finds a meteor in wait for him.
And so we know not whether evil is intended
for those in the earth, or whether their Lord
intends for them rectitude.
“Some of us are righteous, and some of us
are otherwise; we are sects differing… Some
of us have surrendered, and some of us have
deviated.” Those who have surrendered sought
rectitude; but as for those who have deviated,
they have become firewood for hell.
Qur’an 72.1-15

Teachings of Rev. Sun Myung Moon

Because the archangel’s Fall led Adam and Eve to their ruin and the ruin of the human world, [others of] the angelic world have been working on God’s behalf, fighting against Satan. The good angels fight against the evil Satan [and his minions]. Whenever the side of the good angels wins a battle, there is a step forward. (109:18, October 26, 1980)

Good spirits are fighting their way to advance progress towards God’s original world… while evil spirits are struggling to block the way. The evil spirit world and evil physical world are in a constant communication. Good spirits are the spirits of people who were opposed and persecuted in the sinful world. They are religious believers. (134:10, January 1, 1985)

God and Satan fight over human beings, vying to claim them for their side. The spirits of people who have passed away add their forces to the struggle. Good spirits help good people, while evil spirits help evil people. In this way, evil people are pulled to the side of Satan, while the good people go to the side of God. The physical and the spiritual team up in this manner and cause all manner of conflict, although people are ignorant of it. (161:14, January 1, 1987)❖

For He Will Give His Angels Charge Over You

The Richard Urban Show:
#67: Who Can Be Trusted on Voting Integrity: President Trump or Joe Biden?

Cheon Seong Gyeong 451

What are you living for? There will be
some who say they live to eat and there
will be some who say they live to work
or they live without a purpose. What do
human beings live for? If you say you
live for the sake of love, how great this
answer is! Human beings are born as
the fruit of love, live in love, and return
to the eternal love of God’s bosom.
This is the original life of creation.
(Blessed Family -1064)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1215

Who has been moving history until
now? Satan has. Therefore, we must be
separated from him. Unless we remove
Satan, there is no way God can enter. It
is not God’s territory. Since we are still
in the territory of Satan, unless we set
indemnity conditions in this fallen realm
and separate from Satan, unless we lay
the indemnity conditions to drive Satan
away, God’s domain will not expand and
the foundation for God’s activities can-
not be built. Therefore, we must be sep-
arated from Satan and drive him away
completely. (161-204, 1987.2.4)

Angels

Angels and spiritual benefactors are a feature of all religions. They may be recognized as gods, devas, kami, the spirits of animals and mountains (shamanism), or dignitaries like the Jade emperor (china) and the Buddhist bodhisattvas. in the latter group are the spirits of human beings who lived exemplary lives on earth and were then elevated to the status of deity and assigned the mission of angels. nevertheless, in the monotheistic faiths these benefactors, no matter how exalted, are regarded as subordinate to and servants of the one ultimate reality.
In many traditions, these benevolent spirits dispense blessings to the human world and protect people from harm. angelic visitors communicate God’s instructions, as the angel Gabriel spoke to Muhammad and to the virgin Mary. thus angels take the role of “ministering spirits,” serving God and assisting human beings—God’s children.
Angels have power, and hence they are often the objects of worship. yet within Judaism, Islam and Christianity are teachings that human beings are superior to angels. along this line, Father Moon teaches that the angels assisted God in every step of creation, up to his ultimate goal of creating human beings. God placed angels in the Garden of Eden to educate and assist Adam and Eve as they grew from childhood to mature adult-hood, when they were to become perfect and fulfill the ideal of creation. chief among them was the archangel Lucifer, who however became corrupt and caused his charges to fall. (see chapter 6: The Devil and His Activities)it still remains for human beings to judge the angels and regain their lost dignity.

1.The Identity and Mission of Angels

Who makes His angels spirits; His ministers a
flaming fire.
    Psalm 104.4

He created man of clay like the potters,
and the Jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 24
    Qur’an 55.14-15

Are they [the angels] not all ministering spirits
sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are
to obtain salvation?
    Hebrews 1.14

The angels celebrate the praises of their Lord,
and pray for forgiveness for all beings on earth.
    Qur’an 42.5

Those who have said, “Our Lord is God,” then have
gone straight, upon them the angels descend, say-
ing, “Fear not, neither sorrow; rejoice in Paradise
that you were promised. We are your friends in
the present life and in the world to come; therein
you shall have all that your souls desire.”
    Qur’an 41.30-31

For He will give His angels charge over you,
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
    Psalm 91.10-11

I [the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra] relieve the
distress of the beings of all evil realms, and equally
bestow happiness on them. I continue to do so
through the lapse of boundless kalpas, and in the
extent of the ten quarters of the universe. The
benefits of all are eternal, and omnipresent. 25
    Gandavyuha Sutra 39 (Buddhism)

Anything evil refrain from doing; all good deeds
do! So you will be released forever from the
influence of evil stars, and always be encom-
passed by good guardian angels.
Tract of the Quiet Way (Taoism)

When a man walks on the highway, a company
of angels goes before him, proclaiming, “Make
way for the image of the Holy One!”
    Midrash on Psalm 17.8 (Judaism)

It [the Qur’an] is naught but an inspiration
    that is inspired,
which one of mighty powers [Gabriel] has
    taught him,
one vigorous; and he grew clear to view
when he was on the uppermost horizon.
Then he drew near and came down
till he was two bows’ length away or even nearer,
and he revealed unto His slave that which He
revealed.
    Qur’an 53.4-10

The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of
Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed
of a man whose name was Joseph, of the house
of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And
he came to her and said, “Hail, O favored one,
the Lord is with you!” But she was greatly trou-
bled at the saying, and considered in her mind
what sort of greeting this might be. And the
angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for
you have found favor with God. And behold,
you will conceive in your womb and bear a son,
and you shall call his name Jesus.
    Luke 1.26-31

Lord Scripture Glory says, “For seventeen gen-
erations I have been incarnated as a high man-
darin, and I have never oppressed my people
nor maltreated my subordinates. I have helped
them in misfortune; I have rescued them from
poverty; I have taken compassion on their
orphans; I have forgiven their transgressions; I
have extensively practiced secret virtue which
is attuned to Heaven above. If you are able to
keep your hearts as I have kept mine, Heaven
will surely bestow upon you blessings.”

Yet the way of the Unification Church
is different. For what purpose do we eat?
For the sake of the world and to abolish
this evil world. We see in order to clean
up this evil world – not to become a part
of the evil side but to defeat it. How we
hear, think, walk and act is different
from the secular world. (36-71, 1970.11.15)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1099

From a principled viewpoint, the
day of celebration and hope that human
beings long for the most is not the day
when they were born or the day they get
married, or the day you, as a citizen who
lost your nation, recovered your nation,
or even the day of your nation’s indepen-
dence. You should know that the great-
est day of hope, the day that humanity
truly longs for, is God’s Day and Parents’
Day. The establishment of such a day on
the earth has become our deepest wish.
Once God’s Day and True Parents’ Day
are established, then this naturally leads
to Children’s Day and the Day of All
Things. (92-252, 1977.4.18)

Hell

3. Rescuing Souls from Hell

For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righ-
teous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us
to God, being put to death but made alive in the
spirit; in which went and preached to the spirits
in prison.
    1 Peter 3.18-19
As for those who will be wretched, they will be
in the Fire, sighing and wailing will be their por-
tion; they will abide there as long as the heavens
and the earth endure, save for that which your
Lord wills. Lo! Your Lord is the Doer of what
He will.
And as for those who will be glad, they will
be in the Garden; they will abide there as long as
the heavens and the earth endure, save for that
which your Lord wills—a gift unfailing. 23
    Qur’an 11.106-08
When Allah has finished His Judgments among
the people, He will take whomever He will out
of Hell through His Mercy… They will come
out of the Fire, completely burnt and then the
water of life will be poured over them and they
will grow under it as does a seed that comes in
the mud of the torrent…
Those people will come out like pearls, and
they will have (golden) necklaces, and then
they will enter Paradise whereupon the people
of Paradise will say, “These are the people
emancipated by the Beneficent. He has admitted
them into Paradise without them having done
any good deeds and without sending forth any
good (for themselves).”
Hadith of Bukhari 9.93.532 (Islam)

“Ho! servant of Yama! Say, what sin have I com-
mitted, for which I have incurred this deepest
hell, frightful for its torments? Known as King
Vipascit, I protected the earth with upright-
ness; I let no fighting rage; no guest departed
with averted countenance; nor did I offend the
spirits of the ancestors, the gods, ascetics, or my
servants; nor did I covet other men’s wives, or
wealth, or aught else belonging to them. How,
then, have I incurred this very terrible hell?”
Yama’s officer: “Come then, we go elsewhere.
You have now seen everything, for you have seen
hell. Come then, let us go elsewhere.”
Thereupon the king prepared to follow
him; but a cry went up from all the men that
abode in torment: “Be gracious, O king! Stay
but a moment, for the air that clings to thy
body gladdens our mind and entirely dispels the
burning and the sufferings and pains from our
bodies, O tiger-like man! Be gracious, O king!”
Vipascit: “Neither in heaven nor in Brahma’s
world do men experience such joy as arises from
conferring bliss on suffering creatures. If, while
I am present, torment does not hurt these men,
here then will I remain, firm as a mountain.”
Yama’s officer: “Come, O king; we proceed.
Enjoy the delights won by your own merit; leave
here the evildoers to their torments.”
Vipascit, “As long as these beings are in sore
suffering, I will not go. From my presence the
denizens of hell grow happy. Fie on the sickly
protection-begging life of that man who shows
no favor to one distressed, even though he be a
resolute foe! Sacrifices, gifts, austerities do not
work for the welfare of him who has no thought
for the succor of the distressed… To grant
deliverance to these men excels, I consider, the
joy of heaven. If many sufferers shall obtain
happiness while only I undergo pain, shall I not
in truth embrace it?”
    Dharma [the Law]: “These evil-doers
have come to hell in consequence of their own
deeds; you also, O king, must go to heaven in
consequence of your meritorious deeds. I lead
you to heaven; mount this heavenly chariot and
linger not; let us go.”
Vipascit: “Men in thousands, O Dharma,
suffer pain here in hell; and being in affliction
they cry to me to save them; hence I will not
depart.”
Dharma: “O king! Your merit is truly beyond
reckoning. In evincing now this compassion
here in the hells, your merit has amounted even
higher. Come, enjoy the abode of the immortals;
let these unfortunates consume away in hell the
sin arising from their own actions!”
Vipascit: “Whatever good deeds I possess,
O Lord of the Thirty Gods, by means thereof
let the sinners who are undergoing torment be
delivered from hell!”
Indra: “So be it, O king! You have gained an
even more exalted station: see too these sinners
delivered from hell!”
