Every Human Being is Struggling to Attain Life-long Happiness

Parents must provide the education
for their children to progress through the
stages of filial children, patriots, saints
and divine sons and daughters. They
have to teach them to perfect the dutiful
way of children of filial piety, patriots,
saints and divine sons and daughters, all
the way up to God. If there is a parent
who teaches in this way, then would not
God think, “My goodness! That parent
is doing what a parent should do. He is
doing what a real teacher should do. He
is doing what a real leader should do”?
When God says, “You are qualified
to be a real parent. You are qualified to
be a teacher,” then you become a father
who has the qualification to be a lead-
er, and, beyond that, a king. Today, the
concept of filial piety hardly exists in
western culture. The concept of becom-
ing a patriot does not exist. The concept
of becoming a saint does not exist. The
concept of becoming divine sons and
daughters does not exist. This is why
cultures will perish.
God wants you all to become divine
sons and daughters. Then, who wants
you to become a saint? The world does.
The country wants you to be a patriot.
The family wants you to become a filial
child. This is the way of absolute truth.

On the first day of each month, the
husband and wife in each family should
offer a full bow together at five o’clock
in the morning, facing church head-
quarters. This should be done in a joyful
atmosphere. You should also do this at
five o’clock in the morning on Sundays.
You should report about everything in
your daily life during the week. Sunday
should be a joyful day that you long to

Introduction

Every human being is struggling to attain life-long happiness and
overcome misfortune.
How, then, does happiness arise? People feel joy when their desires are fulfilled.
We find a great contradiction in every person. Within the self-same
individual are two opposing inclinations: the original mind that desires
goodness and the evil mind that desires wickedness. They are engaged
in a fierce battle, striving to accomplish two conflicting purposes. Any
being possessing such a contradiction within itself is doomed to perish. Human beings, having acquired this contradiction, live on the brink
of destruction.
Christianity sees this state of destruction as the result of the human Fall.
Considered from the viewpoint of the intellect, the human Fall represents humanity’s descent into ignorance. People are composed of
two aspects: internal and external, or mind and body; likewise, the
intellect consists of two aspects: internal and external. In the same way,
there are two types of ignorance: internal ignorance and external ignorance.
Humanity through religion has followed the path of searching for internal truth, and through science has followed the path of seeking external truth.
Religion and science, setting out with the missions of dispelling the
two aspects of human ignorance, have seemed in the course of their
development to take positions that were contradictory and irreconcilable.
However, for humankind to completely overcome the two aspects of
ignorance and fully realize the goodness which the original mind desires,
at some point in history there must emerge a new truth which can reconcile religion and science and resolve their problems in an integrated undertaking.
What missions must the new truth fulfill? Therefore, in order for God’s providence of salvation to be completely fulfilled, this new truth should first elevate the idealism of the democratic world to a new level, then use it to assimilate materialism, and finally bring humanity into a new world. This truth must be able to embrace all historical religions, ideologies and philosophies and bring complete unity among them. The new truth should guide fallen human beings to return to their original state. To do this, it must reveal the purpose for which God created humankind and the universe, and teach about the process of their restoration and its ultimate goal.
God has sent one person to this earth to resolve the fundamental problems of human life and the universe. His name is Sun Myung Moon.

Only Through Home Church Can You Return Home

We use the words True Parents. We
say that we should go forward togeth-
er with True Parents and together with
God. Next, we say that we should be
true brothers and sisters. Centering on
what? Centering on Jesus. Jesus’ parents
were unable to serve him, but we should
reverse that failure through indemnity
and stand in the position of parents who
can serve him and who are better than
his earthly parents were.
Which do you think is easier to
accept: my referring to God as the Par-
ent, or your referring to me as the Parent?
You do not know how much I have suf-
fered. You do not know how many walls
there have been and how complicated it
has been. Until now, myriads of people
have struggled on that path and all have
fallen into the pit. When you joined the
Unification Church and began to under-
stand me from the perspective of theory,
it must have been easy for you to say, “Ah,
he is the True Parent.” Then, which do
you think is greater, the joy I felt when I
realized that God is the True Parent or the
joy you felt when you realized it? I could
utter the word “Father” only after having
gone through life-threatening suffering,
but you were taught everything without
suffering. This is why you can say, “Okay,
I have come to know the True Parents; so
what?” Who would rejoice more? Which
do you think should be greater, the joy I
felt when I met God in the parent-child
relationship or the joy you feel when you
meet me? Although my encounter came
only after suffering, your encounter took
place without suffering, so you should be
more joyful. If I had paid hundreds of
billions of dollars, wouldn’t you be you
happy that you paid nothing? What have
you paid? When you come and listen to
the Principle you can understand every-
thing. So, when you hear “True Parents,”
you merely say “So that’s how it is!” and

Where would the realization of God’s
ideal kingdom, that is, the restoration of
the homeland, first take place? It will
begin with an individual who believes
in loving his enemies. Hence, as long as
God remains in existence, Christianity,
the religion that came forth first with
the movement to eliminate national
boundaries, transcend all the walls of
environment and culture, and embrace
its enemies, by virtue of the power of
love, cannot help but become the most
widespread religion in the world. When
you sow beans, you reap beans; when
you sow red beans, you reap red beans;
and when you sow seeds of red flow-
ers, red flowers will bloom. Similarly,
if Satan, who takes vengeance upon his
enemies, sows seeds of the devil, from
that place will grow trees of evil that
take vengeance on their enemies. If, on
the other hand, one who loves his ene-
mies sows the seeds of goodness, from
there will grow trees of goodness that
will love their enemies. Such is the law

Cain and Abel Home Church
Before you can go back to your home town, you
must digest 360 houses, fulfilling your responsi-
bility in Cain’s plane. When you do it, everyone will
welcome you, just as I have received a welcome in
Korea after fulfilling my mission. When I say
you have to work in Cain’s sphere, I am referring
to the Cain-type archangel, the fallen archangel.
The archangel tempted Adam and Eve, so to
surpass the level of the fall and build the
Kingdom of Heaven, we must get the support of
the archangelic world, through home church. The
Christian realm is that of Cain, so you have to go
to that realm and organize a certain group
there-win 360 homes. At the time of the second
advent, if the Abel-type people cannot subjugate
the Cain-type sphere, there is no way for individu-
als, families, clans, tribes, nations or the whole
world to return to God. So we must build up a
substantial world like the sphere of the unfallen
archangel, in order to put an end to the fallen
world and win the support and obedience of the
Cain-type sphere. This you must accomplish
through your Cain-type home church.
If you can make 360 homes unite with you,
then you can go back to your home town, back to
Eden, and do your Abel-type home church. As the
second son, you had made yourself a sacrifice in
order to serve Cain. When you go back home after
gaining the victory in the Cain-type home church,
your position changes from that of second son to
that of first son. Then, as a consequence, the
angelic world, as Cain, must become the sacrifice
and support you as Abel. Thus, the spiritual world
should come and support you when you gain the
victory in home church. The early Christians were
persecuted and killed, but nobody persecutes
someone who invests himself desperately to serve
360 homes.
Only through home church can you return
home. As adopted sons, you are still children of
the archangel; therefore, you must subjugate the
Cain-type archangel in your 360-home home
church; then you can return to your home town, to
the sphere of the original archangel. When uu
win over the home town archangel, then you can
restore your parents, your brothers and sisters and
your relatives. Only when the Cain-type archangel
(your 360 homes) and the original archangel (your
home town) unite, can parents be restored.

Do you think that Satan, who has
given God such a hard time for six thou-
sand years, is just going to quietly say,
“Oh boy, I have had it. I think I will just
give up,” then lower his eyes and crawl
away? Don’t you yourselves value even
a wash cloth too much to just throw it
away? Before you throw it out, you will
probably turn it over, inspect it, and
even smell it. What I am saying is that
Satan will not just give up and go away
like that. That is why he keeps on put-
ting up such a stubborn fight. So, we
have to fit with and match up with the
center. Even Rev. Moon of the Unifica-
tion Church will be broken the day he
deviates from the center. If the direction
is not right, then you cannot make any
progress.

Men and women are horizontal. They
are level. The union of man and wom-
an is to be engrafted, based on vertical,
lifelong and eternal love. As men rep-
resenting east and women representing
west have lost the central line, they will
seek to graft into this, so they must abso-
lutely get married. Aren’t there many in
America who oppose marriage? There
are many who, like homosexuals or les-
bians, dislike having children. Those
without children have lost out when they
pass on to the spirit world. This is the

Mobilize spirit world
Home church is the bridge to unite the spiritual

1981 is the final year of the third seven-year
course, and between then and the year 2000, the
entire world will be organized into home church.
That will complete 40 years since True Parents were
installed in 1960. The more work we do here in the
physical world, the greater the spiritual phenomena
affecting the earth. Spiritual assistance will be
equally strong, because that realm is like the
angelic realm: its position is to serve the victorious
Adam and Eve. In your home church, you will
exercise your authority to direct the spirit world to
assist you. (5/27/79)

Home church can easily be surrounded and
protected by the spiritual victory I have won; there
is no possibility for it to fail. The spiritual power
we can employ for the home church is many
thousands of times greater than anything the
satanic world can mobilize. All you have to do is
unite with True Parents’ spirit and intent. Make
controversy; go ahead and create good trouble. The
world is plagued with evil trouble, so let us become
makers of good trouble.
On November 2, 1978, two important ceremo-
nies were held at Chung Pyong Lake, Korea. One
ceremony was to unite all religions around one
central religion-not just on earth but, more
basically, in the spirit world. The other ceremony
was to unite all races around one central race or
representative of God. The basic purpose of
these ceremonies was to form one totally unified
world, to remove racial and religious barriers. Walls
that have separated the ages are now crumbling.
Before, if some ancestor wanted to descend and
help us, he would have to go through so much
processing; but now the ancestors know the
meaning of home church and can even help
prevent persecution. In your home church area, if
you witness to one person, his ancestors can all
come down at one time. The whole clan-level spirit
world can pour down and give you support.

All good men of conscience in the entire spirit
world and here on earth must come forward to
participate in kingdom-building. You can pray,
asking for their support. You can also petition
God as your Father to send down a regiment of
angels to work with you, since you are doing home
church work as His representative, and God will
listen to that prayer. Until now, the angelic world
could not come to give you much help, because you
belong to the fallen generation. But by doing
home church work, you can become the true
children of God, so you can request the help of

Through home church, God can have dominion,
and spirit world can have a free pass to come and
help you. It used to be that when spirit world
descended, it would have to ascend again; but now
when we have a home church, it can stay with us;
through home church, spirit world has no limita-

Home church is infinitely precious; it’s almost
like landing on the final terminal of God’s
dispensation. When Armstrong landed on the
moon, four billion people on the earth watched
him; but when you land in home church, all the
billions of people in spirit world will observe and
applaud. Before this, you were nobody special,
but by encountering me and the Divine Principle,
you have become a person of historical signifi-

If you cannot bear to leave your area, and you
stay there, remaining awake all night, then spirit
world will visit those 360 homes for you, showing
them a vision of you standing in the neighbor-
hood and not going back home because you miss
them so much. After such a vision. they will open
up their door and you will be standing there.

Your home church members will see visions of
me and of you also. When they are open like that,
then they will live eternally in the same spirit world
and realize that they are to live in the same family.
Love will open their eyes. When you link that love to
one home church and it connects it to another and
so on, it will form an unbreakable chain of love
which no one. not even God. can cut. This link will

Those of you who are engaged should determine
to receive the inheritance from ·our own True
Parents and walk on their foundation. How do
you prove you are worthy? Through home church.
No one who retreats from doing home church is
qualified for the Blessing. In some cases, your
fiance or wife or husband may be hesitant to do
home church, but you should push him or her out.
If you can give anything for your home church,
how much more could you do for your mate? Now
that you have a fiance, a new loved one, you can
love your people more. Do you wish you had more
time to spend with your fiance instead of home
church? Your antenna should be directed towards
home church. When you meet with your fiance,
put your heads together and decide that you will
each go out to win the victory in home church and
then come back and ask me to bless you. I would
like to see you practically worshiped in your home
church area, so that when you bring your fiance,
everyone will say that they have a king or queen as
well. By winning this qualification, you can truly
enter the hall of Blessing for the wedding march.
The process of restoring the fallen world
involves three major relationships: that of Cain
and Abel, that of husband and wife, and that of
parents and children. Now we are bringing these
three together for the first time. Home church is
the process of uniting the brothers, Cain and
Abel. Eventually, your home church and your
spouse’s home church will come together, and you
will be able to live together as a couple after
receiving accolades from your home church. That
will be your foundation for living as husband

Your Position is Like Jesus’; a Tribal Messiah Crying in the Wilderness

breakthrough activities, you should
gain the support of 12 families. When
you go to a district, you should gain the
support of 12 local communities, and
when you go to a local community you
should integrate twelve home neigh-
borhoods. There are twelve stages. For
the most part, haven’t the cities, coun-
ties and boroughs harmonized with us?
There isn’t anyone, including the heads
of organizations, who doesn’t respect
Rev. Moon, right? All of you are also
respected, right? We have become influ-
ential, right? So, you are people of influ-
ence, but are you the central figure of
influence or not? We’re the only ones
who can prevail over the communists,
right? So we have become the central fig-

When you think of the words True
Parents you should remember that his-
tory will be reset through True Parents.
The origin through which we can build
a new world will come into existence,
the internal standard through which
Satan can be brought into submission
will be determined, and Satan’s domi-
nation of the external world will be con-
quered. Only then can the central point
be set and the liberation of God take
place. Therefore, you should be thank-
ful for this great blessing which has been
bestowed upon you, which is the grace
of being able to live in the same era as
True Parents and act upon their orders.

Richard: In Unification theology, the returning Messiah must take a bride, and then become the True Parents. That has been fulfilled by Rev. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon. Also, we are to become Blessed couples who are true parents.

home church. You are independent messiahs, and
whatever you do is your responsibility. You are to
bring the Kingdom of Heaven in home church.

foundation. The messiah is the person who

down to earth, creating here on earth the physical
heaven. Since you are a middleman or bridge to

tribe, and once you obtain it, you can go all the way

If you have 360 homes assigned to you but you
are not working in them, people will come to
accuse you and ask you to release them. They will
tell you that they don’t need that kind of
messiahship. They will tell you that they need an

In the second seven-year course, all the people
of one tribe will be assigned a joint home church
area, which will be the tribal home church. A
hundred Smiths will have 100 home church areas,
and they will cooperate as one tribe, going from
one place to another, sponsoring events and
encouraging people. Once the process of organiza-
tion is done and home church succeeds here in
America, particularly once tribal organization is
accomplished, a link will be made to the entire
world, because America is a microcosm of the
universe. After home church. you can do tribe
church, nation church, world church-whatever
you want; but home church is the minimum.

other words, you are given a sort of birth
certificate and you are organized into certain

Connect Everything to Home Church

The women must not just be worried
about the livelihood of their own homes.
Please notice that I’ve mobilized women
centering on the Women’s Federation.
Is this mobilization due to the power of
human beings? In the beginning, when
I first said that I would have an initia-
tion conference for the Asian Women’s
Federation of World Peace (AWFWP),
everyone’s eyes went like this, and our
own Unification Church members put
up opposition saying women can’t do
anything and that AWFWP women
can’t do anything. But then True Moth-
er stepped forward and the opposition
subsided. Seeing the atmosphere, the
members couldn’t oppose it any further.
Therefore, I declared the arrival of the
era of women. I made this declaration
because the time was ripe to do so. Wait
and see if the age of women comes now

Because tong ban breakthrough
activities started back in 1978, that means
it has already been fourteen years. The
fourteen years of doing tong ban break-
through stands for this age. The concept
of Home Church is the concept of tong
ban breakthrough activities. Because
you were starting to slack off in Home
Church, I changed the description a lit-
tle and pulled you forward centering on
tong ban breakthrough activities. We
spent seven years and then another seven
years, so it has taken fourteen years. My
plan was to be prepared and to do this
before now, but the leaders of Korea did
not know this and couldn’t fulfill their
responsibility. The men failed twice, so
the women must do it from now on. (237-65,

What is the most important thing
when it comes to receiving blessings?
It is neither money, nor honor. It is
not having power. The most important
blessing is for your sons and daughters
to receive good fortune in life. You must
understand this. What did I say is the
best blessing out of all the blessings you
can receive? It is none other than giving
birth to sons and daughters who can be
loved by God. That is the best blessing.
Then, what would happen next? If your
son receives more love from God than
you do, then you will also benefit from it.
Isn’t that how everything works?
When you see power lines extend-
ing to remote parts of the land, you can
see that they hang loosely between poles.
Nevertheless, if you pull from one end,
the lines become taut. In the same way,
when your children receive great love
from Heaven, even if you’re sagging,
you’ll be pulled up just like the power
lines. You receive benefit in this way.

Everything you see should be connected to home

When you come home all worn out from
working and collapse on your bed, should your
central figure sympathize with you and let you
sleep, or should he challenge you with the ques-
tion. What about y our home church? Even
exhausted, your last words should be reporting on
home church.
Maybe you run into a friend you have not seen
for a long time, and he invites you out to dinner.
Then you should think, What about my home
church? If you go to home church immediately
after eating, the food will be pleased; but if you
wander off somewhere else, the food you ate will
be disappointed.
If you and your fiance have a long-standing
date to visit the Statue of Liberty and you buy a
coke to drink there, the coke will protest, You think
you are enjoying this, but it would be better to
enjoy plain water in your home church.
Wherever you go, the things around you will ask
why you came there instead of going to home
church. The bench in the park will blame you for
not being in home church. If you stop for a
quick lunch at a restaurant, it will protest that you
should eat just leftovers in home church. Ask
each bench, each bathroom, each drink and meal
if they have their mission, and they will reply, Yes
we do, but we have no connection with you aside
from your home church.
And when you go to bed, tell it, I know I should
be sleeping in my home church, but please forgive
me this one time. Tomorrow when I wake up, I will
accomplish twice as much.
If you go out to enjoy nature, all creation will
feel that you are not a good person if you are not
in your home church. It’s like people finding a
ten-year-old playing hooky from school. Spiritually.
all nature knows that you should be in home
church.
After hearing this, you will feel the creation
protesting against you everywhere you go. If that
makes you feel more connected to home church
and less free than before, because all your
surroundings remind you of your destiny, so

How much you devote yourself to home church
shall determine the distance between you and God
and the intensity of love God can give to you. Set
the condition that you love your home church more
than your wife or husband, your children or
parents. With all your heart, soul and mind, love
your home church. Jesus said that whoever loved
his husband or wife or family more than he
would not be worthy of the kingdom of God.
Likewise, if you love husband, wife or family
more than home church and God, you are unworthy
