with True Parents while They are
on Earth

If you miss this time, you will have
deep regrets for hundreds of millions
of years. Can you buy this opportunity
with money? Can you buy it with knowl-
edge? Can you match it with something
you have? You absolutely cannot. Even
if you bear the burden of the world, peo-
ple, tribe and family who are connect-
ed to you all at once, can you inherit
this? Again, no, you cannot. This time
is so precious that even if the commu-
nist world and democratic world were
allowed to perish, this opportunity
would not be allowed to come to nought.
God would think that even if all human-
kind were sacrificed, this opportunity
should not be destroyed. This is what we
should think. There is no way you can
say all you want to say and stand in such
a focal position. There is no way you can
say all you want to say and still be a child
of filial piety. There is no way you can say
all you want to say and do all you want
to do and still become a patriot. (51-354,

Richard Urban: This refers to those who were alive while Rev. Sun Myung Moon was on the earth (1920-2012). However, it also applies to the present spiritual crisis. Satan, the devil can only prevail if we allow him to. We must not give away our God-given freedoms in the guise of “safety”, whether the threat is real or perceived.

Because human beings inherit-
ed the blood of the archangel, Jesus
was conceived through a person who
stood in the position of the archan-
gel. What does it mean to say con-
ceived through the Holy Spirit? Such
inadequate explanations should not
hold sway. The principle of restoration
through indemnity explains it as it is.
If a person in the position of the arch-
angel can be raised up, and can become
an absolutely unchanging, loyal sub-
ject on God’s side, especially loved by
Him, then Satan will have to imme-
diately leave his position as the arch-
angel. Thus, Jesus was born through a
person in the archangelic position on
God’s side. In this way, Jesus was born
as the firstborn son. The right of the
fallen eldest son was restored and puri-
fied into the new lineage, and Jesus was
born with the right of the eldest son
on God’s side. Therefore, those who
believe in Jesus are reborn through the
love of God, with God as their center.
Through this, their lineage is different

How can we know the divine nature of the incorporeal God? One way to fathom His deity is by observing the universe which He created. Thus, St. Paul said: Ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature, namely, His eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. (Rom. 1.20) Just as a work of art displays the invisible nature of its maker in a concrete form, everything in the created universe is a substantial manifestation of some quality of the Creator’s invisible, divine nature. As such, each stands in a relationship to God. Just as we can come to know the character of an artist through his works, so we can understand the nature of God by observing the diverse things of creation. (Exposition of the Divine Principle, Creation 1.1)

The human body reflects the mystery of God. Analyze and dissect it using your intellect, and even after millions of years you would not know all there is to know about your body. Despite thousands of eye doctors, there are still innumerable mysteries about the eye. Do you think medical science knows all there is to know about the eye? No, their knowledge is still in its infancy. How, then, can these “infants” say there is no God? (95:123, November 6, 1977)

Look at the eye. Before it was formed, the eye must have been designed by someone who realized that it would be functioning in an atmosphere of dust and wind. It was designed in such a way to adjust to such conditions. Do you think the eye knew ahead of time what conditions it would face? If it did not, there must be Someone who knew, and who created the eye with the means to protect it. There must be some Intelligence, operating behind the scenes, which had cosmic knowledge. It knew that the earth’s heat would cause moisture to evaporate from the surface of the eye, so it made tear ducts to lubricate it. There is Reason within the design of nature. Look at the eyelids, designed to prevent the serious problem of dust entering the eye. Look at the eyebrows; they were designed to block sweat from running down into the eye. Did the eyebrows appear knowing that they would have this function? Or did the eyes put on eyebrows because they knew this of themselves? No. There is an Intelligence that knew in advance the environment in which the eye would be functioning and designed the eye precisely for it. (117:78, February 1, 1982)

One way to prove the existence of God is by observing the abundant evidence that God is trying to promote world citizenship and the concept of the world as one nation. Can you find a certain universal ingredient in religion that encourages loyalty beyond the level of nation or race? That evidence alone is sufficient for us to recognize the existence of God, who through the course of history has been promoting unity. (95:63, October 23, 1977)

What does God need? God does not
need even life. As the initiator of life,
why would He need that? Then what
does He need? He needs love. Why does
God need love? He needs love because
love is something that exists only in a
reciprocal relationship. Without being a
God who needs love, He would be unable
to make a relationship with the created
world and human world. Since the con-
clusion is that God cannot make a rela-
tionship with the world of existence with-
out coming with a heart of love, He fixed
love as the standard. (121-100, 1982.10.24)

On earth, food is one of life’s con-
cerns. Thus, manufacturing plants for
automobiles, fertilizer, garments, food,
and so on are needed. People make a
big fuss over food at home. In the spir-
it world, all that is unnecessary. Cars
and planes are not needed. In the twin-
kling of an eye, infinite distances can be
crossed. Spiritual energy travels faster
than the sunlight created by God, and it
travels three hundred million meters per
second. God’s original love energy and
life energy travel infinitely faster than
that. If you wish to meet with someone
light years away, that person will appear
right away. Even in heaven, which is
vast, when you prepare your heart and
say that you would like to meet some-
one you loved, that person will appear
on the spot.

3.3.4 MESSIANIC PROPHECIES

The Korean people have long cherished a messianic hope, nurtured by the clear testimonies of their prophets. The Korean people, the Third Israel, have believed in the prophecy that the Righteous King will appear and found a glorious and everlasting kingdom in their land. Clinging to this hope, they found the strength to endure their afflictions. This messianic idea among the Korean people was revealed through the Chonggamnok, a book of prophecy written in the fourteenth century at the beginning of the Yi dynasty.

Furthermore, among the faithful of every religion in Korea are those who have received revelations that the founders of their religions will return to Korea.

Finally, we witness revelations and signs being given to spiritually attuned Christians testifying to the Second Coming of Christ in Korea; they are sprouting in profusion like mushrooms after a rain. God’s promise that He will pour out His spirit upon all flesh84 is being fulfilled among the Korean people. As devout Christians make contact with spirits from various levels of the spirit world, from the lower realms to Paradise, many are receiving clear revelations that the Lord will come to Korea.

3.3.5 THE CULMINATION OF ALL CIVILIZATIONS

Therefore, the spiritual and material aspects of civilization developing from religion and science, which have flourished all over the world, will be embraced and harmonized in Korea as guided by the new truth. Then they will bear fruit in the ideal world of God’s deepest desire. First, the essences of all civilizations which developed on the land should bear fruit in Korea. Next, the essences of civilizations born on the shores of rivers and seas should bear fruit in the Pacific civilization to which Korea belongs. Last, civilizations born out of different climate zones should bear fruit in Korea.

PARALLELS BETWEEN JESUS’ DAY AND TODAY

The period of the Second Advent is parallel to the time of Jesus. The situations unfolding in Christianity today are similar to those which took place in Judaism at Jesus’ time. Let us examine some of these parallels. Today’s Christianity, like the Judaism of Jesus’ day, adheres too rigidly to institutional authority and ceremonies, while internally it is corrupt.

Christian leaders today, like the Jewish leaders of Jesus day, will probably be the first to persecute Christ at the Second Advent. When people receive revelations about Christ at the Second Advent or hear his words, they will respond in ways similar to the way the Jews in Jesus’ day responded. Both in Jesus’ day and at the Second Advent, many devout believers who set out on the path of faith with the hope of entering Heaven may actually find themselves in hell. Recognizing that similar events may occur in the Last Days, each of us should seriously examine ourselves.

THE CHAOTIC PROFUSION OF LANGUAGES AND THE NECESSITY FOR THEIR UNIFICATION

If human beings had not fallen, we would have formed one global family, which may be likened to a body whose members are all interlinked with each other with God as their head. Then all would have shared a common language; there never would have risen a profusion of tongues unintelligible to one another.

As children of the same parents, having the same feelings of joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure, if we cannot share our deepest feelings with one another because we speak different languages, it is the greatest of misfortunes. Our languages therefore must be unified if we are to realize the ideal world of one global family which can honor Christ at the Second Advent as our True Parent.

Based upon which language will all languages be unified? The answer to this question is obvious. Children should learn the language of their parents. If Christ does indeed return to the land of Korea, then he will certainly use the Korean language, which will then become the mother tongue for all humanity. Eventually, all people should speak the True Parents’ language as their mother tongue. All of humanity will become one people and use one language, thus establishing one global nation under God.

Not only that, you have to be able to
be victorious, and not lose in the fight
with Satan during the course of estab-
lishing God’s nation and God’s purpose.
Then, starting from the individual, you
have to connect the family, society, peo-
ple, nation, and world into one. In other
words, you have to be able to fight and
win over Satan in whatever situation you
are put. If you go into society, you have
to be able to fight and win over Satan in
any environment that society presents
you with. If you go out into the nation,
you have to be able to step forward, take
responsibility for that nation’s worst
problem, then fight and win over the
satanic forces involved.

Adam and Eve were to be the body
of God. They were to be the horizon-
tal parents, while God was the vertical
Parent. We should eventually discard
this horizontal body, enter the original
homeland vertically, and live in atten-
dance to the eternal King in the heaven-

en, then through perfecting themselves,
they would have become God’s body and
the king and queen of love. They would
have fulfilled their portion of respon-
sibility connecting the realms of direct
and indirect dominion on earth through

WHERE WILL CHRIST RETURN?

If Christ comes again as a man born on the earth, he will certainly be born among a people who are chosen by God in accordance with His predestination. Where is the place God has chosen for Christ’s return? Who are the people chosen to receive him?

3.1 WILL CHRIST RETURN AMONG THE JEWISH PEOPLE?

Some Christians expect that Christ will come again among the Jewish people, based on several passages from the Bible:

“And I heard the number of the sealed, a 144,000 sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel,” and “Truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel, before the Son of man comes.” However, to interpret these verses in this way is to misunderstand God’s providence. On this matter, Jesus uttered the parable of the vineyard: “Hear another parable. There was a householder who planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to tenants, and went into another country. When the season of fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants, to get his fruit; and the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. Again he sent other servants, more than the first; and they did the same to them. Afterward he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’ And they took him and cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” They said to him, “He will put those wretches to a miserable death, and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.” Jesus said to them . . . “Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it.” —Matt. 21:33-43

Who became the chosen people after Jesus’ crucifixion? They were none other than the Christians who inherited the faith of Abraham and took on the mission which Abraham’s descendants did not complete. The chosen people who should lay the foundation for Christ at the Second Advent are not the descendants of Abraham, but rather the Christians who have inherited the faith of Abraham.

3.2 CHRIST WILL RETURN TO A NATION IN THE EAST

Which nation, then, will inherit the work of God and bear its fruits? The Bible suggests that this nation is in the East. This indicates that the seal of the living God will be placed on the foreheads of the 144,000 in the East, where the sun rises. These chosen ones will accompany the Lamb at his return. We can thus infer that the nation which will inherit the work of God and bear its fruit for the sake of the Second Advent is in the East. There Christ will be born and received by the 144,000 elect of God.

3.3 THE NATION IN THE EAST IS KOREA

 Since ancient times, the nations in the East have traditionally been considered to be the three nations of Korea, Japan and China. Among them, Japan throughout its history has worshipped the sun goddess, Amaterasu-omi-kami. Japan entered the period of the Second Advent as a fascist nation and severely persecuted Korean Christianity. China at the time of the Second Advent was a hotbed of communism and would become a communist nation. Thus, both nations belonged to Satan’s side. Korea, then, is the nation in the East where Christ will return. As the nation to which the Messiah returns, Korea had to meet the following qualifications.

The family encompasses history, the
present and the future. So what is the
ultimate point that God has sought for
six thousand years? It is the family – the
family where love is interconnected and
where all are united in love. Everything
that exists comes under its dominion.
We cannot cut our relationship with
this absolute source of love. The estab-
lishment of such a family was the orig-
inal mission that God gave Adam and
Eve at the time of creation. God did not
want them to merely end up as a man,
Adam, and a woman, Eve, but instead
dreamed of a new family where they
would be united. This is the first start-
ing point towards establishing men and
women. Thus to be able to enter the
Kingdom of Heaven safely, you have to
find a family and within the realm of
that family in this world, enter and live
in a place where you can feel satisfied in
God’s love. Only then can you go beyond
this world as well.

Christians believe that Adam and
Eve fell by eating the fruit, after the
serpent incited them with whispered
words. They have no idea of the work-
ings of fundamental principles. You
cannot imagine how sad, miserable
and frustrated God is because of this.
He is sadder, more frustrated and more
miserable than anyone in history. The
moment Adam and Eve ate the fruit of
the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil God’s heart nearly burst with dis-
tress. And yet, God could not help lov-
ing them. You must understand this.

4.4 THE THIRD WORLD WAR

4.4.1 IS THE THIRD WORLD WAR INEVITABLE?

At the consummation of human history, Satan’s side and God’s side will strive until they each attain sovereignty over a world. This is why the democratic world and the communist world stand confronting each other. Consequently, it became inevitable that there be world wars, first to divide and then to unify these two worlds. The First and Second World Wars had the providential purpose of dividing the globe into the communist world and the democratic world. Afterward, yet another war must take place to bring about their unification. This conflict is the Third World War. It is inevitable that the Third World War take place; however, there are two possible ways it may be fought.

4.4.2 SUMMARY OF THE PROVIDENCE IN THE THIRD WORLD WAR

 The Third World War is the final conflict in the providence of restoration. Through this war, God intends that the democratic world bring the communist world to submission and build the ideal world. During the Third World War, God’s side is to found the perfect Abel-type view of life based on the new truth and complete the worldwide completion-stage foundation for democracy. God’s side is then to guide all of humanity into one unified world.

4.4.3 THE PROVIDENTIAL CAUSES BEHIND THE THIRD WORLD WAR

What are the internal, providential causes behind the Third World War? First, the war has to take place to fulfill the worldwide indemnity condition at the completion stage to restore God’s three great blessings. Second, the Third World War has to take place to have the people on God’s side overcome Jesus’ third temptation on the world level. Third, the Third World War has to take place to lay the completion-stage foundation for the restoration of God’s sovereignty.

4.4.4 THE PROVIDENTIAL RESULTS OF THE THIRD WORLD WAR

God intends to restore through indemnity the entire providence, which was prolonged to the third stage. The providence of restoration can be completed only after fallen people restore their heart toward God through God’s life-giving Word, are saved both spiritually and physically, and inherit God’s lineage.19 The victories of God’s side in the three world wars will fully restore through indemnity all these aspects of the providence of restoration. They will make possible the realization of God’s ideal world, for which God has labored with unremitting tears over the centuries of human misery since the Fall.

Originally, when God as the Parent
created Adam and Eve, He reaped the
benefit of having children. At the same
time, He enabled the children to ben-
efit by having parents. God’s hope was
to raise His children to perfection. Had
this happened, it would be possible to
say that God would have harvested both
Adam and Eve.
Then, why do we need parents and
why do we need children? God is spir-
itual and human beings are physical.
The parent-child relationship is also like
this.
The invisible God bears fruit through
the visible child and then enters into the
heart of the child to reveal His value as
the visible God. The invisible God bears
fruit within the child’s heart and the
fruit of the child is then produced. It is
possible to transfer the fruit of the father
to the child. And thus, for God, both His
fruit and the parent’s fruit are produced.
They have equal value.
Then, why are parents and children
needed? Even though God possesses
love, He needs a partner to share His
love. We as children also need a partner
to share our love. This partner relation-
ship between parents and children is like
the relationship of heaven and earth. It is
a vertical relationship.

Lineage and ownership must be con-
verted to God’s side. Japan has inherited
Satan’s ownership. Adam must become
the master ahead of Satan. Before Adam
becomes the master, God must become
the owner. But God has not yet become
the owner. Adam has not become the
owner. In order to recover the owner-
ship that Eve lost, she must go out to the
world and put everything in order. That
is why ownership must be returned to
God’s side. In order to have that owner-
ship returned, it cannot be brought to
me directly. It must be brought through
my children, through Mother. It must be
done in reverse, the way it is done in res-

THE WORLD WARS

4.1 THE PROVIDENTIAL CAUSES OF THE WORLD WARS

Wars break out due to such factors as conflicts of political and economic interests and clashes of ideology. Yet these are merely external causes. There are also internal causes of wars, just as there are internal and external motives for every human action.

What are the internal, providential causes of the world wars? First, the world wars have resulted from Satan’s last desperate struggle to preserve his sovereignty.

Second, the three world wars have occurred in order to fulfill the worldwide indemnity conditions to restore the three great blessings.

Third, the three world wars have occurred so that all humanity may overcome on the world level the three temptations by which Satan tempted Jesus.

Fourth, the world wars have taken place to fulfill the worldwide indemnity condition to restore God’s sovereignty.

4.2 THE FIRST WORLD WAR

4.2.1 SUMMARY OF THE PROVIDENCE IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR

In the political sphere, the First World War was a conflict between Abel-type democracies, which pursued the goal of the providence of restoration, and authoritarian states where Cain-type democratic ideals were thriving and which stood in opposition to the goals of the providence of restoration. It was fought between the imperialist nations on God’s side and the imperialist nations on Satan’s side. In the sphere of religion and ideology, the Cain-type nations included Turkey, a Muslim nation persecuting Christianity, and its allies, Germany and Austria-Hungary. They fought the Abel-type nations of Great Britain, the United States, France and Russia, which generally upheld Christianity. At the conclusion of the First World War, the Abel-type democracies had gained victory at the formation stage.

4.2.2 WHAT DECIDES GOD’S SIDE AND SATAN’S SIDE?

The question of which nations are on God’s side and which are on Satan’s side is decided based on the direction of God’s providence of restoration. Those who are in line with the direction of God’s providence or are acting in concert with that direction, even indirectly, are on the side of God, while those who take an opposing position are on the side of Satan.

In the First World War, the Allied Powers led by Great Britain, the United States, France and Russia were Christian nations; moreover, they had been fighting to liberate the Christians under persecution in Turkey. Thus, they stood on God’s side. On the other hand, Germany and Austria-Hungary, the leading Central Powers, supported Turkey, a Muslim nation which persecuted Christianity. Therefore, together with Turkey, they stood on Satan’s side.

4.2.3 THE PROVIDENTIAL CAUSES BEHIND THE FIRST WORLD WAR

What were the providential, internal causes of the First World War? The First World War had to take place, first, to fulfill the worldwide indemnity condition to restore God’s three great blessings at the formation stage. Second, the First World War took place in order to have people on God’s side collectively overcome Jesus’ first temptation on the world level. Third, the First World War took place in order to lay the formation-stage foundation for the restoration of God’s sovereignty.

4.2.4 THE PROVIDENTIAL RESULTS OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR

The victory of the Allied Powers in the First World War fulfilled the formation-stage indemnity condition to restore God’s three great blessings worldwide. By overcoming Jesus’ first temptation on the worldwide level, they fulfilled the indemnity condition to restore God’s first blessing worldwide. The victory of democracy also established the formation-stage foundation for the restoration of God’s sovereignty and laid the foundation for the birth of the returning Christ, who is destined to be the Lord of God’s world.

In conclusion, with the victory of God’s side in the First World War, the foundation was laid for the Second Advent of the Messiah. From that time, the formation stage of the dispensation of the Second Advent commenced.
