about when three people and nations

to control the oceans of the world, lead-
ing to the colonization of America.
How did Great Britain gain control
over the oceanic rights of the world?
Britain, an oceanic nation, was the Eve
nation. Since it was a female nation and
an island nation, it opened up and con-
trolled the oceans of the world. That is
how it made America its colony. Ameri-
ca is like a son to Britain, so Eve should
be the one to give birth to an ideal hus-
band. Otherwise, an ideal husband can-

The firstborn son of the eldest son
must drive his roots deep. No one can
uproot it. The grandfather cannot do so,
nor can the uncle. That is why when you
perform ancestral rites, you first have the
eldest son stand at the head even before
his uncle, cousin, third-cousin and even
his great-uncle. Did you know that? The
eldest son is set at the front, thus, we can
see that the Korean race was one which
attached great importance to the first
son’s position by virtue of its tradition-
al cultural background that reveres its
ancestors. Did the lowly people live with
the nobility? Did they carelessly mingle
with each other? No. It was said that the
nobility would not even light a fire made
with husks of rice, even if they were to
freeze to death. That is amazing. (197-340,

Heaven

2. Fellowship with the Saints and Our Ancestors

Where men of goodwill and good deeds rejoice,
Their bodies now made free from all disease,
Their limbs made whole from lameness or
     defect—
In that heaven may we behold our parents and
our sons!

All who obey God and the Apostle are in the
company of those on whom is the grace of
God—of the Prophets who teach, the sincere
lovers of Truth, the witnesses [martyrs] who tes-
tify, and the righteous who do good: Ah! what a
beautiful fellowship!

You have come to Mount Zion and to the city
of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and
to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to
the assembly of the first-born who are enrolled
in heaven, and to a judge who is God of all, and
to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to

love who have gone before you. Again you will

and through spiritual discipline have gone to
   heaven,

fight contested battles, heroes
who cast away their lives, to those who
made a thousand gifts, let him go!

To those ancient followers
of the Law, steadfast in the Law,
who furthered the Law, to the Fathers, Yama,
great in their spiritual fire, let him go!

To the sage-poets, the leaders
of thousands, those who protect the sun,
to the Rishis of great spiritual discipline,
born of spiritual discipline, Yama! let him go!

On the Korean peninsula, the Repub-
lic of Korea is destined to battle and tri-
umph over communism. When it does,
the Republic of Korea will play an active
role in the world. However, if it is defeat-
ed by communism, the Republic of Korea
will disappear without a trace. The Viet-
nam War is a prime example of the trag-
ic fate that awaits you after defeat. North
Korea represents evil, while the Repub-
lic of Korea represents good. The devil
controls North Korea, while God sides
with the Republic of Korea. In this man-
ner, the Korean peninsula is becoming
a region in which good and evil are in
the sharpest confrontation in the world.
All the evil in the world will perish
when good overruns and defeats evil in
this area. Throughout providential his-
tory, God has been eagerly waiting for
the Korean people and the free people of
the world to come together and achieve a
complete victory. (129-331, 1983.12.14)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1740

God is the Creator and the vertical
Parent of true love. In other words, He
is the vertical Parent based on true love.
Perfected Adam and Eve are the horizon-
tal parents based on true love. These two
sets of parents are to unite. Vertical and
horizontal are to unite at the place where
Adam and Eve make love. That place is
the original palace of love, life and lin-
eage: the male and female organs. In this
way, God Himself will give birth to His
sons and daughters. They are indeed
His children. You were all born from
two sets of parents, with the conscience
in the reciprocal position to the vertical
Parent. In view of this, your conscience
is the vertical “you” and your body the
horizontal “you.” Through what do
vertical and horizontal unite? Uniting
through true parental love, the Creator’s
true love, body and mind would never
conflict but rather would harmonize
completely. (250-38, 1993.10.11)

Richard: We can see why absolute sexual ethics is the dividing line between good and evil.

Heaven

Conceptions of heaven and hell are found universally among the religions of the world. Descriptions of these abodes are often full of graphic and fanciful imagery, conveying in metaphor a reality that can hardly be part of the ordinary experience of mortals. are these realms objectively real? the scriptures are unanimous in affirming they are. yet they do not have any physical location: “up” or “down” is a matter of spiritual geography, not of astronomy or geology. the view found in some texts, that heaven or hell is derived from one’s state of mind, does not make it any less real. For the attitudes and desires of people’s hearts, which may be hidden by the external features of mortal life, constitute the spirit world’s “matter.”
     the world’s scriptures describe heaven as a place of rest, or as an exalted spiritual state, full of divine grace, whose inhabitants live in communion with God and in harmony with one another. a number of texts describe it as a place of fellowship with the spirits of the departed or a fellowship of saints. there are also descriptions using more graphic and materialistic imagery: gardens of delights, with riches and pleasures abounding. Father Moon’s colorful descriptions of heaven are in agreement with these themes of scripture. What’s more, he adds a distinctive note, affirming that heaven is also a place where families dwell together, enjoying perfect love.
     We conclude with visions or tours of heaven: a Buddhist description of the pure Land, Muhammad’s night Journey through the seven heavens, an Iroquois native American journey in the code of handsome Lake, as well as Father Moon’s own descriptions. they describe a paradisiacal existence, a word of eternal youth and health where every wish is granted, where the senses are flooded with vibrant colors and melodious music.

1. Realms of Grace

No one who does good deeds will ever come to
a bad end, either here or in the world to come.
When such people die, they go to other realms
where the righteous live.
   Bhagavad-Gita 6.40-41 (Hinduism)

Those who have faith and do righteous deeds,
they are the best of creatures. Their reward is
with God: Gardens of Eternity, beneath which
rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; God
well pleased with them, and they with Him; all
this for such as fear their Lord and Cherisher.
   Qur’an 98.7-8

Rabbi Joseph… was ill and fell into a coma.
When he recovered, his father asked him,
“What did you see?” He replied, “I beheld a
world the reverse of this one; those who are on
top here were below there, and vice versa.” He
said to him, “My son, you have seen a corrected
world.”
   Talmud, Pesahim 50a (Judaism)

Not like this world is the World to Come. In
the World to Come there is neither eating nor
drinking, nor procreation of children or busi-
ness transactions, no envy or hatred or rivalry;
but the righteous sit enthroned, their crowns
on their heads, and feast on the radiance of the
Divine Splendor (Shekhinah).

To the highest regions, in due order, to those
regions where there is no delusion, and to
those regions which are full of light where the
glorious gods dwell—who have long life, great
power, great luster, can change their shape
at will, are beautiful as on their first day, and
have the brilliance of many suns—to such
places go those who are trained in self-control
and penance, both monks and householders
who have obtained liberation by absence of
passion.
   Uttaradhyayana Sutra 5.26-28 (Jainism)

Higher than all stands the Realm of Grace—
None can have access there except heroes of
     supreme might,
Inspired by God-consciousness.
In that sphere abide numberless heroines like
     Sita of surpassing praise
And beauty indescribable.
Those to God united suffer neither mortality
     nor delusion.
In that sphere abide devotees assembled from
     the various universes,
Cherishing the holy Eternal ever in their hearts.
In everlasting bliss.
The formless Supreme Being abides in the
     Realm of Eternity.
Over His creation He casts His glance of grace.
In that realm are contained all the continents
     and universes,
Exceeding in number all count.
Of creation, worlds upon worlds abide therein—
All obedient to His Will;
He watches over them in bliss,
And has each constantly in mind.
Saith Nanak, Such is that realm’s [glory] that to
     try to describe it is to attempt the impossible.
