Your 360 Homes Are Your Tribe

Daniel 11

What I am going to tell you is certain to happen. Four kings will rule Persia, one after the other, but the fourth one will become much richer than the others. In fact, his wealth will make him so powerful that he will turn everyone against the kingdom of Greece. Then a mighty king will come to power and will be able to do whatever he pleases. But suddenly his kingdom will be crushed and scattered to the four corners of the earth, where four more kingdoms will rise. But these won’t be ruled by his descendants or be as powerful as his kingdom.

Jeremiah 35

35 When Jehoiakim[a] was king of Judah, the Lord told me, “Go to the Rechabite clan and invite them to meet you in one of the side rooms[b] of the temple. When they arrive, offer them a drink of wine.”

So I went to Jaazaniah,[c] the leader of the clan, and I invited him and all the men of his clan. I brought them into the temple courtyard and took them upstairs to a room belonging to the prophets who were followers of Hanan son of Igdaliah. It was next to a room belonging to some of the officials, and that room was over the one belonging to Maaseiah, a priest who was one of the high officials in the temple.[d]

I set out some large bowls full of wine together with some cups, and then I said to the Rechabites, “Have some wine!”

But they answered:

No! The ancestor of our clan, Jonadab son of Rechab,[e] made a rule that we must obey. He said, “Don’t ever drink wine or build houses or plant crops and vineyards. Instead, you must always live in tents and move from place to place. If you obey this command, you will live a long time.”

8-10 Our clan has always obeyed Jonadab’s command. To this very day, we and our wives and sons and daughters don’t drink wine or build houses or plant vineyards or crops. And we have lived in tents, 11 except now we have to live inside Jerusalem because Nebuchadnezzar[f] has taken over the countryside with his army from Babylonia and Syria.

12-13 Then the Lord told me to say to the people of Judah and Jerusalem:

I, the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, want you to learn a lesson 14 from the Rechabite clan. Their ancestor Jonadab told his descendants never to drink wine, and to this very day they have obeyed him. But I have spoken to you over and over, and you haven’t obeyed me! 15 You refused to listen to my prophets, who kept telling you, “Stop doing evil and worshiping other gods! Start obeying the Lord, and he will let you live in this land he gave your ancestors.”

16 The Rechabites have obeyed the command of their ancestor Jonadab, but you have not obeyed me, 17 your God. I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I warned you about the terrible things that would happen to you if you did not listen to me. You have ignored me, so now disaster will strike you. I, the Lord, have spoken.

Selected Passages from the Words of Rev. Sun Myung Moon about Home Church

Today’s Word magazine, September 1981 pp. 10 – 11

Your suffering will bring victory
Home church is your ground for paying indem-
nity. You pay off your debt through home
church. Home church is located on the other side
of the crucifixion, on the Mount of Calvary. It is
located beyond the hill of the crucifixion. Home
church is located beyond the 2,000 years of
Christian history. Horne church is also beyond
Father’s suffering life. (4/16/80)

In the future, whenever you hear the phrase
home church, you will remember that you
suffered for it, but also that this is where you
fulfilled your destiny and won your victory. Thus
home church will be your place of hosannas.
Since you suffered, the shining glory you receive
at the end will have greater value. The love you
attain is yours forever; no one can ever take it
away, because you earned every bit of it through
your suffering. ( 1/7/79)

The value of persecution
If you live in your home church area 24 hours a
day and every moment of the day everybody comes
and kicks you, hits you. knocks you down and
curses Rev. Moon, and yet you still love them and
pray for them, you will be able to be proud of
your record of enduring and overcoming record-
breaking persecution. If you are crazy about
Abel’s mission and if you are crazy about home
church, trying to win Cain, crying to receive
persecution every minute of the day. then you just
cannot be anything except a true Abel. (2/25/80)

Do you know who is going to sign your certifi-
cate as a child of God? Not me, but the hostile
people in your home church area should be the
ones to uphold you as a man of God. If you
sisters meet a terrible man in your area who gives
you a hard time, you must think that he is your
husband. If there is an unbearable woman in
your area, you brothers can think she is your
wife. If you brothers meet such a man, think of
him as your brother Cain who wants to kill you;
then reflect on your duty to him and your
responsibility to win him to your side . Think that
unless you can win him to your side you are not
ready to go on to any higher blessing. (5/27/79)

The Impact of Home Church
On Others

Become people’s tribal messiah
Each of us needs to assume the responsibility
of leader of a clan and eventually the messiah of
a clan. You must have the ability to feed all the
inhabitants of your 360-home church area and
take responsibility for them. Within your home
church area, you must be the messiah, teaching,
guiding and even marrying the people. (3/29/79)

Your home church people will have photo albums,
and since you have testified to them about True
Parents, they will put our picture on the front
page. Right next to it they will put your picture and
say, This person is my messiah. This will happen
automatically, not because you tell them to, but
because they desire to do so. ( 1/28/79)

You should want to go to home church to bring
liberation. You should become an ancestor, a
forefather of mankind and a forefather of
home church. (4/16/80)

Your 360 homes are your tribe. If your name
happens to be Smith, those 360 homes are the
Smith tribe. You can say, I came and I am going to
build homes for all of my tribe. And then you will
reflect further, I know who built these homes;
God built them for me to give to my tribe, and He
used Satan as labor. I claim ownership of this
place and as the tribal messiah I shall lead my tribe
into the modern-day Canaan. ( 1/1/80)

Daniel 4

13 “In the visions I saw while lying in bed, I looked, and there before me was a holy one, a messenger,[c] coming down from heaven. 14 He called in a loud voice: ‘Cut down the tree and trim off its branches; strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee from under it and the birds from its branches. 15 But let the stump and its roots, bound with iron and bronze, remain in the ground, in the grass of the field.

Richard:  The world needs a fundamental change in viewpoint.  The new bud from Christ must be grafted on to the remaining stump left after the radical change in viewpoint.  This is nothing less than a revolution, a new sexual revolution.

Ezekiel 4

15 “Very well,” he said, “I will let you bake your bread over cow dung instead of human excrement.”

16 He then said to me: “Son of man, I am about to cut off the food supply in Jerusalem. The people will eat rationed food in anxiety and drink rationed water in despair, 17 for food and water will be scarce. They will be appalled at the sight of each other and will waste away because of[d] their sin.

Richard:  God is warning us that we have to change.  It is not optional.

The Path In Search of the Original Homeland Rev. Sun Myung Moon July 5, 1959

Luke 15: 11-32

We are striving on the course of life in search of the original hometown. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me.” (John 14:6) But I’d like to add one more word to this. That is “I am the love.” Jesus left out this word. Thus, if there came a man who can connect to Heaven’s heart, who can say with confidence, “God, I am the love, and the truth, and the way, and the life; no one meets with God but by me,” no one would be able to put him on the judgment stand. No one would be able to say, “Hey, you rascal! You are betraying Heaven.” God is eagerly waiting to see many such sons and daughters emerge on this earth. This why we hold Jesus in such high esteem.

We the Unification Church believers have come here today. We have experienced every inch of the surging waters in the course of life. We have wandered about, searching for Heaven while being pushed here and there. I need a place where I can entrust my body, entrust my mind and entrust my heart. Since the original Adam is the central figure to all things in the Garden of Eden, how would they think of him? All things under the sun are to say to Adam, “Please, quickly become my master.”

What kind of a being is God that we human beings call on Him? God is the being who is in the position where everything can say to Him, “Please be my master.” That is why we call Him God. Otherwise, how could He govern all of creation?

Humanity today should be able to say, “Since I wish to offer to You everything I have, God, please be my master.” We should become the people who have built the history, the providence, and the character to do so. If you meet a man like that on this earth, you must say to him, “Please have dominion over my body, my mind and my Shim Jung. Please be my master.” Only then will you have the mind to attend the master as he has pined to be attended. You should become people like that.

Romans 4

11 Abraham let himself be circumcised to show that he had been accepted because of his faith even before he was circumcised. This makes Abraham the father of all who are acceptable to God because of their faith, even though they are not circumcised. 12 This also makes Abraham the father of everyone who is circumcised and has faith in God, as Abraham did before he was circumcised.

Richard: I need a supercharge in my faith. God has called me, and now is the time to believe in God’s calling of me and act accordingly.

Daniel 4:

13 “While I was in bed, having this vision, a holy angel[a] came down from heaven 14 and shouted:

‘Chop down the tree
    and cut off its branches;
strip off its leaves
    and scatter its fruit.
Make the animals leave its shade
and send the birds flying
    from its branches.
15 But leave its stump and roots
    in the ground,
surrounded by grass
and held by chains
    of iron and bronze.

Richard: The tree of the fallen world and fallen lineage will be cut down. Just the stump will be left. The tree of God’s lineage will be grafted on to this stump, giving the tree new life.

The Path In Search of the Original Homeland Rev. Sun Myung Moon July 5, 1959

Luke 15: 11-32

Now we must find someone who can link his own pitiable circumstances with those of the world. My sense of loneliness must become connected with the world. My sense of being stifled and wanting, which for some unknown reason penetrates deeply in my mind, must become connected with the world. The time is coming when this worn Shim Jung will get connected with the world. We must find the one who can elucidate the whole thing, someone who can take charge of my misfortune, my pitifulness, my loneliness and my resentment. Going a little further, we must find the one who can introduce the world of the ideal that I long for, the one who can let me enjoy fully and forever the heart I have wanted to feel in the world of happiness, peace and freedom. We must find the one who can let that heart, which is associated with eternity, bring happiness to everything in the corporeal world. If someone has met such a one, his life would be a successful one.

I know and believe that Jesus and God let us feel so, and that we can experience them in the sorrowful world. You should stop in your tracks if you think you know all there is to know. You should search for the one who teaches the secret method by which you can withstand what you must go through.

In order to do that, one has to overcome the circumstances he is faced with. He must go beyond his own hope, be well aquatinted with the circumstances, and be able to understand the heart. When our problems are resolved by God in reality, then we can believe in Him without anxiety.

Only when you are equipped with the ideology of such a heart can you stave off the emotion felt in such a world. You can do this even when you run up against grief in the weary course of life. If there is something which grows stronger when struck and beaten, which can resist betraying Heaven, something that is felt through the relationship of heart, it will not be taken possession of even if driven into the bottom of hell. Such a position must surely exist.

The Cross Was Absolutely Unnecessary

Acts 3

14 You rejected Jesus, who was holy and good. You asked for a murderer to be set free, 15 and you killed the one who leads people to life. But God raised him from death, and all of us can tell you what he has done. 16 You see this man, and you know him. He put his faith in the name of Jesus and was made strong. Faith in Jesus made this man completely well while everyone was watching.

Daniel 9

A foreign ruler and his army will sweep down like a mighty flood, leaving both the city and the temple in ruins, and war and destruction will continue until the end, just as God has decided. 27 For one week[n]this foreigner[o] will make a firm agreement with many people, and halfway through this week,[p] he will end all sacrifices and offerings. Then the “Horrible Thing” that causes destruction will be put there. And it will stay there until the time God has decided to destroy this one who destroys.

My New Self and the Heaven Where My New Self Can Dwell

Sun Myung Moon
June 14, 1959

What should I, as an individual, do in these last days? To solve this problem, we have to hold onto the Messiah who came for all people. Humanity has progressed until today through numerous historical relationships. God’s dispensational history was brought about through the chosen people God so lovingly chose. This history was for the purpose of embracing His loving sons and daughters.

Therefore, we have to conform with the heavenly content that moved the six thousand years of history to possess the power of life that can push the whole of it away. Jesus drove away the four thousand years of history when he came two thousand years ago by being connected to the historical heart of God. After clarifying everything in the four-thousand-year history, Jesus wanted to build a new garden upon that foundation. Therefore, holding onto that heart of Jesus, we should clarify history and think of the future. We have to think of how much Jesus longed for the emergence of his new ideology at that time.

Jesus told Nicodemus that unless he was reborn, he could not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, I must deny the life I have lived until today. No matter how much I think I have accomplished, I must deny my individual self. Because I am a fallen person, I cannot escape from that realm. My life and my lifestyle should be denied.

What we think of as normal is not indeed normal. We live an abnormal life; we have an abnormal lifestyle, and we die abnormally. The natural place for us to enter would be hell. What is heaven? It is the place where the person goes who lives a normal life, has abnormal lifestyle, and dies normally.

If Jesus came to distinguish between hell and heaven, to close the door to hell and open the door to heaven, to build heaven, then he certainly did not come with an ideology, a life, and a love that can be denied. You should understand this.

Who did Jesus come in search of when he came to this earth? Jesus came searching for the Israelites, whom God has established as the chosen people after indescribable hardships. Jesus was absolutely necessary for Judaism, the religion of the chosen. That absolutely necessary one was hung on the cross and departed. You should realize that Jesus was absolutely necessary for the Israelites and Judaism. The cross was absolutely unnecessary. It should not have been.

John the Baptist Did Not Follow Jesus

Daniel 7

In the first year of King Belshazzar[a] of Babylonia, I had some dreams and visions while I was asleep one night, and I wrote them down.

Richard:  God can speak to us through our dreams.

1 Kings 17

22 The Lord answered Elijah’s prayer, and the boy started breathing again. 23 Elijah picked him up and carried him downstairs. He gave the boy to his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive.”

Richard:  God can work miracles.

The Path of Faith Which Should be Examined Carefully

Matthew 11: 1-30

Prayer

We have learned from the word how painful a sorrow is that has left a nail hole in the heart. As we read the word, we feel ashamed and yearn for the anxious image of Jesus. Allow us to be able to sympathize with the sad life of Jesus, who did not even have one friend who could cry with him. We know that no one has experienced the heart of Jesus as he looked upon the humanistic disciples and the tragic reality of the human world.

Father, what was the hope of John the Baptist as he practiced asceticism in the wilderness, surviving on grasshoppers and wild honey? His entire hope and the center of his heart were to receive the coming Messiah. After witnessing to the Messiah, he received the heavenly mandate to become one with him. John the Baptist should have said, “He is in my heart and I am in him; his heart is my heart, and his life is my life.” In other words, they should have become one, with Jesus wholly reflected in the heart of John the Baptist.

John did not succeed in this, however. From the misery of prison, John the Baptist sent his disciples to the Messiah and asked, “Are you he who is to come, or shall we look for another?” (Matthew 11:3) even after having witnessed to him as the son of Heaven with his hands uplifted before the multitude. This was a historical tragedy and a sorrowful scene God could not forget. Continue reading “John the Baptist Did Not Follow Jesus”
