Historical Children’s Day

We are celebrating the 22nd Children’s Day today. We have several major celebrations in Unification Church, Parents’ Day, Children’s Day, Day of All Things, and God’s Day, but the world does not have these days, or know the significance of them. Our Church is founded on God’s dispensational purpose, and as a religious institution the Church installed these days. They have meaning not only to us, but to God and to religion itself.

What is the purpose that religion has to fulfill in God’s sight? When we say that the purpose of God is fulfilled, we mean that God’s kingdom is established, and God’s family has been erected. The Kingdom of God begins from the heavenly family of men. What makes up that God-centered family? It consists of God-centered men and women, the essence which makes up the family, society, and the center of all things that God created. That perfection must reign at the level of men and women, as the foundation of all.

You should know the sacredness of the name, “True Parents.” All creation was made for True Parents substantial realm. True Parents’ ideal realm must be realized even if it is at the cost of all that was created. The creation exists to achieve this realm. God created all things [Gen. 1–25] with this concept, which he had before the Creation. The name “True Parents,” which God had sought for thousands of years, will cut off all tumultuous things happening in the world and will achieve an ideal world, which is nothing less than the globalization of blessed families.

After they come to the earth, the task of parents is to establish the kingdom. The messiah, who represents Heaven, should have come to this earth centered on the nation of Israel and Judaism, and overcome the Roman Empire. It is not to be overcome through conflict. Everything must be invested in order to bring about re-creation. Giving and forgetting, investing and forgetting, and in this way forgetting time and forgetting one’s life and environment in order to invest — this single-mindedness is the way that your love will last in the context of God’s will. If you assert yourself and promote yourself, what you do will not remain during the course of re-creation.

Today we commemorate the 18th anniversary of Parents Day. No other group on earth celebrates True Parents Day. We have four major celebrations during the year, Parents Day. Children’s Day, World Day, and God’s Day, and by celebrating these holidays we are truly celebrating the rebirth of heaven and earth.

If there had been no fall of man, we would never have seen such holidays as God’s Day, Parents Day, Children’s Day and World Day. Adam and Eve would probably have been the only two people who would have celebrated these days, while their descendants would have celebrated only the victory of their established foundation. All of mankind was supposed to have been born on the foundation of these days. Through the fall of man, however, there was no fulfillment here on earth, and all joy was lost. Consequently there was no day of joy for God, no day of the True Parents, no day of the true children, and no day of all things. All mankind is born in sorrow and suffers in sorrow, and struggles to recapture the original world; because of the fall, however, that perfection has always eluded man.
