Your Position is Like Jesus’; a Tribal Messiah Crying in the Wilderness

Cheon Seong Gyeong 2050

As you are doing your tong ban
breakthrough activities, you should
gain the support of 12 families. When
you go to a district, you should gain the
support of 12 local communities, and
when you go to a local community you
should integrate twelve home neigh-
borhoods. There are twelve stages. For
the most part, haven’t the cities, coun-
ties and boroughs harmonized with us?
There isn’t anyone, including the heads
of organizations, who doesn’t respect
Rev. Moon, right? All of you are also
respected, right? We have become influ-
ential, right? So, you are people of influ-
ence, but are you the central figure of
influence or not? We’re the only ones
who can prevail over the communists,
right? So we have become the central fig-
ures of influence. (204-245, 1990.7.11)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1265

When you think of the words True
Parents you should remember that his-
tory will be reset through True Parents.
The origin through which we can build
a new world will come into existence,
the internal standard through which
Satan can be brought into submission
will be determined, and Satan’s domi-
nation of the external world will be con-
quered. Only then can the central point
be set and the liberation of God take
place. Therefore, you should be thank-
ful for this great blessing which has been
bestowed upon you, which is the grace
of being able to live in the same era as
True Parents and act upon their orders.
(43-144, 1971.4.29)

Richard: In Unification theology, the returning Messiah must take a bride, and then become the True Parents. That has been fulfilled by Rev. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon. Also, we are to become Blessed couples who are true parents.

Selected Passages from the Words of Rev. Sun Myung Moon about Home Church

Today’s Word magazine, September 1981 pp. 11 – 12

Your position is like Jesus’- that of a tribal
messiah crying in the wilderness. Just as God
prepared John the Baptist to testify to Jesus, God
will also send a John the Baptist ahead of you to
testify about you. It is hidden now, but in your
area, there are people prepared, just as God
prepared the nation of Israel. (4/27/80)

Your goal is to become a tribal messiah to your
home church. You are independent messiahs, and
whatever you do is your responsibility. You are to
bring the Kingdom of Heaven in home church.
(4/15/80)

Home church is surrounded by a spiritual
foundation. The messiah is the person who
brings the spiritual victory and spiritual heaven
down to earth, creating here on earth the physical
heaven. Since you are a middleman or bridge to
transmit the messiah’s work to your home church,
you are his ambassador; therefore, when you
fulfill your mission you become the messiah to
your own tribe. (1/1/79)

In home church, you are actually creating a
tribe, and once you obtain it, you can go all the way
of heaven. (5/26/79)

If you have 360 homes assigned to you but you
are not working in them, people will come to
accuse you and ask you to release them. They will
tell you that they don’t need that kind of
messiahship. They will tell you that they need an
active messiah. (4/16/80)

In the second seven-year course, all the people
of one tribe will be assigned a joint home church
area, which will be the tribal home church. A
hundred Smiths will have 100 home church areas,
and they will cooperate as one tribe, going from
one place to another, sponsoring events and
encouraging people. Once the process of organiza-
tion is done and home church succeeds here in
America, particularly once tribal organization is
accomplished, a link will be made to the entire
world, because America is a microcosm of the
universe. After home church. you can do tribe
church, nation church, world church-whatever
you want; but home church is the minimum.
(5/18/80)

You should organize your rosters and lists in
preparation for the registration of heaven. In
other words, you are given a sort of birth
certificate and you are organized into certain
tribes. You know that eternally you will belong to a
certain tribe. Seven years from now. everything
will be decided by family registration. (4/16/80)

This is the Era when We can call God our Own Father

Cheon Seong Gyeong 2219

Is it not love that moves us to help
our parents at home? If they loved you,
you want to love them back. That is a
heavenly principle. Everything arising
from the heart is linked to the parent-
child relationship. It is all derived from
the seeds that were planted in your
hometown.
Yet due to the Fall, everything went
awry, and consequently needs to be
resolved on earth. Return to your home-
towns and post up the signboard declar-
ing yourselves as being more loving fil-
ial sons and daughters than all the other
filial sons and daughters out there on
Satan’s side. On that declaration, it will
not be the archangel, but good spirits,
who will descend upon the earth. Then
the spirits operating on the horizontal
level with a loving heart will come to
your house here in Seoul and cooper-
ate with you. You can then extend your
horizontal foundation in this way. This
is restoration. (175-44, 1988.4.6)]

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1240

What is the most precious thing in
my life? It is the Blessing. Even for you,
the greatest gift in all of history has been
the Blessing. (23-317, 1969.6.8)

Richard: Amen, Aju!

Members Who Will Live In God’s Family

Rev. Sun Myung Moon
September 27, 1959

Matthew 12: 46-50

Humanity lost the true parents because of the Fall. Although we have fallen parents, we do not have the original parents. No matter how good, exalted and cultivated one may be, he is still of the fallen lineage. He cannot be proud of himself. No matter what one may possess, if we probe into it, we will find that there is always uneasiness and dissatisfaction in his heart.

Then what is the lamentation of human beings and of all created things? It is that human beings cannot participate as members of the heavenly family. This is the lamentation of the universe. There is no other purpose to our life of devotion. It is to call God “Father.” You have to understand the God who conducted the providence of restoration for six thousand years in order to usher in the one day when all of humanity can become brothers and true children of the Father; when all of humanity can call Him Father and rejoice.

This is God’s goal and the goal found deep inside the minds of human beings. This goal must be realized. That day must come. If that day does not come, there is no way we can build a relationship of the heart with God. As long as we are unable to build a relationship of the heart with God, He cannot look into our hearts and claim us as His own. We cannot claim to belong to God. The moment that this relationship is realized on the earth, God’s grief will be alleviated. Cries of bitterness will no longer be heard in Heaven. Moreover, at that moment the ideal world on the family level, which can unite Heaven and earth, will be opened. For the sake of this goal, our ancestors clung blindly to God’s words.

Due to the Fall, human beings lost the true parents, true brothers and sisters, true spouses, and true children. For this reason, those of us who have set out to find all these need the words of the True Parents.

What responsibility should we who are seeking the True Parents shoulder in the course of restoration? With what kind of determination and conviction should we go forth? We should long for the words of the original parents in our hearts. Moreover, we should long for the original parents who can rejoice with God. What kind of people are these parents? We should think about what the hearts and love of the original parents must be like.

What does God bring to us as we are running forward to live as members of one heavenly family? He comes to us with the words of truth based on the foundation of faith. What is the wish of human beings? It is to listen to the words of the true father with their minds and bodies. They want to move their bodies and minds according to the words. Besides their actions, they also want to hold onto the Father and learn about him. Furthermore, they also want to learn about the Father’s ideals and mind. They want to learn about the Father’s love.

Until today God has given us new truth through countless prophets and sages in every era and century. He told us how the world should be and revealed the world of hope that we long for. In this way history passed through revolutions that turned things upside down and which have expanded to the world level. God and fallen people stand far apart. Hence, God cannot speak to human beings directly. He chose many prophets and spoke through them. God has been connecting to human beings this way until now. In the Old Testament, God worked through angels. In the New Testament, God worked through His son. Now history is moving toward the era when we can call God our own Father. What can make this possible? It is accomplished through God’s words. For this to be possible, those words must possess heart, and there must be an embodiment of those words.

Richard: Here, in 1959 True Father, Rev. Moon is pointing out that in the new age we will call God our own Father. Centered on the Word of the Eight Sacred Textbooks: http://visionroot.org/resources/the-eight-books-of-holy-scripture/, we can do just that.

The people we need are the True Par-
ents. What started from the false par-
ents must be restarted by the True Par-
ents. The false parents are the ones who
inherited false love and false lineage
starting from false love. This must be
reversed. Then, how can we inherit true
life and true lineage centered on the love
of the True Parents? In other words, the
issue is how to inherit the original seed
again since we inherited the wrong seed
of life.

Cheong Seong Gyeong 1122

When Adam fulfills his portion of
responsibility he stands in the posi-
tion of the first son. Then he can enter
the position of true parents. This is the
restoration of parenthood. It is the posi-
tion of the king, the king of heaven and
earth.

We Who Are Walking a Life Course

1 Peter 1: 21-25

That is where the truth is connected. That is where the foundation of truth implants its roots. Truth does not implant its roots in glamorous high society. The roots of truth have to be implanted first in the humble alleys of a culture. The roots of truth are not to be implanted in Heaven, but on this fallen earth. The roots of truth are not to be found in the Kingdom of Heaven but at the bottom of hell. Heaven’s new standard of life will be established the day the roots of truth are implanted there, the day that the one who can communicate with Heaven appears.

Therefore, although we establish the truth in an ideal way and as our hope, the course to pursue it requires us to search in the back alleys. We search the back alley of life, mind and love as we look upon the symbol of life. We have to understand that this is the basis for seeking the highest spiritual attainment. A person who is living a life of devotion may be happy from the original standpoint, but he struggles in the back alleys of faith and sings this song in his life. This is the misery of religious life.

What is the origin and motivation of its reform and the creation of a new culture in a nation? When the mind explodes within you which can cling to a miserable person and cry for him, the flames of new hope burn. The historical flames will burn. For this country to be prosperous, for this country to have hope, we must create an environment in which we can shed tears on behalf of miserable people with a pure and sincere heart. Then this country will conquer the world.

What was Jesus’ situation on the earth? He did not praise the value of Jehovah from the absurd position of seeking the beauty of some fantastic ideal world. Although his internal contents were like that, his life was that of a prince in hell. This is what you have to understand. In his life, he was a royal prince in hell. He exerted himself more than anyone else to advocate and pioneer the truth. When he learned one thing, he was concerned about ten things. Although the people of this earth feel one type of pain, that of solving their problems and those of their own generation, Jesus felt countless types of pain. You have to understand that he led the life of a prince in hell.

Even when he entered hell, he had the authority to conquer it. He did not attain it freely. If he judged, punished and sentenced sinners without having had the same experience himself, God could not be a true God. If the leader of Korea punishes a violator of the law from a position of serious empathy, this country may survive. He should never say, “What you do has nothing to do with me.”

Jesus came to this earth with such a feeling in his heart. He came with this power and told people to love him. Why did he tell them to love him? What he meant to say is, “You who love only temporarily! No matter how precious you may be, you should abandon all that you have and love me. Then God will love you on a higher level.” Although he appeared in a humble manner, the words he spoke were completely the opposite. He could not have spoken those words if he did not have some inner quality of confidence and pride. Because of this Jesus was able to be the Messiah.

This Will Become an Unforgivable Sin Before Heaven

Reply to this email and I will send you a link to a recording of Saturday’s Unification Principle Seminar.

Cheon Seong Gyeong 261

Religious leaders prostrate them-
selves and pray in an effort to receive
blessings, but I have never prayed to
receive any blessing. The Old Testament
Age was the age of finding God’s people
by establishing all things; the New Testa-
ment Age was the age of finding the Par-
ents by sacrificing the sons and daugh-
ters; and the Completed Testament Age
is the age of liberating God by sacrificing
the Parents’ family. This means bring-
ing the Original Parents to this earth
and living with them for thousands of
years. The Korean folk song about the
moon and the laurel tree sings of bring-
ing parents and living with them for
tens of thousands of years. This Korean
tale contains a revelation: “…wanting to
bring the heavenly parents to earth and
live with them for tens of thousands of
years….” Whenever I think about this
song, I cannot escape the intense long-
ing in my heart.
Don’t ever feel bad about having been
born as a Korean. In the past, you might
have felt pity for yourself for having been
born Korean, saying “How is it that I was
born in a thatched-roof hut among these
poor Korean people, although Korea
boasts of its five-thousand-year histo-
ry?” The Korean song that goes “Moon,
Oh moon, you bright moon” sings of
building a thatched cottage and living
there for thousands of years. I do not
feel happy when I hear this song. Only a
thatched-roof cottage? How can we ful-
fill the wishes of the people there? How-
ever, its reference to “build a thatched
cottage, bring my parents there and
live with them there for thousands of
years” must refer to the ideal parents of
humanity. The song connects with the
Christian belief in the Second Coming
and with the belief in a savior to come
that is present among all peoples and
nations. (85-80, 1976.3.2)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1315

The year 1970 saw the beginning of
a great mobilization. The Blessed Fami-
lies from ten nations around the world
were called to Korea, in order to restore
Canaan. They were called to Korea and
became completely united while over
here. You must know that this was after
the Blessing of the 777 Couples. Wasn’t
that Blessing held in 1970? In mak-
ing such a foundation, the Unification
tribe from across the world representing
ten nations came to participate. Going
beyond the number nine, which signifies
formation, growth and completion, the
number ten is the number of God, and it
also corresponds to the number twelve.
That is why the ten nations must be con-
nected providentially. (69-237, 1974.1.1)

We Who Are Walking a Life Course

Sun Myung Moon
September 6, 1959

1 Peter 1: 21-25

The mind acts according to the principles of the universe. It wants to move without limits toward goodness. This is like a magnetic needle pointing to north and south. The principle of nature would never lose the direction and circumvent goodness. There is no such phenomenon. The human mind also seeks to move toward a certain purpose. We have to understand clearly that the mind which is orientated toward life moves through the heart, desires to distill out the truth, desires to unite with the whole, and desires to live in harmony with the doctrine of the whole. This mind is the foundation upon which Heaven can reveal the escape route.

We who are fleeing must fight if we are to maintain a heart which is orientated toward the heavenly nature. We have to fight. We have to understand clearly that depending on whether or not we reach the goals of escape, we may or may not attain salvation. This is the process we are walking through. How should we run?

Ladies and gentlemen, think about this carefully. When we are in a fight, we have to fight in a way that God desires, use the strategies that God desires, and reach the point which God desires. It is inevitable that we have to establish values which comply with the program of the sponsor.

Ladies and gentlemen, please reflect once more upon what state you are in. Since we cannot deny that we acting in a world of purpose and we are chained to that world, the crucial question we must address is what our situation is in the escape route of our life. There are those who are not awake, even when layers of the enemies’ ranks are blocking the path before them. They are only dreaming about their situation, or they do not know that they are in a deep sleep. There are those who have fallen from fatigue in the middle of the path they should run on. There are all kinds of cases.

You should find yourself again. You who are participating here today should set the standard of heart, and, based upon that, discern your position and state of being and analyze yourself. Your mind yearns for something, yet without clearly understanding, you feel uneasy and fearful. For this reason, not only would you feel through natural phenomena that you should not be in the situation you are in; you will also sense it through all the things you see around you. Hence, even through these things you will have to understand the situation and state that you are in.

If you can become spiritually open, you will see that countless religious people of the distant past are crying out before the people. Many spirits are running by your side today. They are trying to awaken you by saying, “Let’s go; enemies are coming.” Yet your ears do not hear these voices; your eyes do not see; your bodies do not sense this. This is how tragic the situation is. There is nothing more mournful than this. This is not something that only you will lament over. This will become an unforgivable sin before Heaven, who is trying to connect the value of existence to the world of the ideals of the whole.

The Absolute Being is the Ultimate Goal

Cheon Seong Gyeong 259

Which do you think is easier to
accept: my referring to God as the Par-
ent, or your referring to me as the Parent?
You do not know how much I have suf-
fered. You do not know how many walls
there have been and how complicated it
has been. Until now, myriads of people
have struggled on that path and all have
fallen into the pit. When you joined the
Unification Church and began to under-
stand me from the perspective of theory,
it must have been easy for you to say, “Ah,
he is the True Parent.” Then, which do
you think is greater, the joy I felt when I
realized that God is the True Parent or the
joy you felt when you realized it? I could
utter the word “Father” only after having
gone through life-threatening suffering,
but you were taught everything without
suffering. This is why you can say, “Okay,
I have come to know the True Parents; so
what?” Who would rejoice more? Which
do you think should be greater, the joy I
felt when I met God in the parent-child
relationship or the joy you feel when you
meet me? Although my encounter came
only after suffering, your encounter took
place without suffering, so you should be
more joyful. If I had paid hundreds of
billions of dollars, wouldn’t you be you
happy that you paid nothing? What have
you paid? When you come and listen to
the Principle you can understand every-
thing. So, when you hear “True Parents,”
you merely say “So that’s how it is!” and
understand everything. (116-121, 1981.12.27)

Cheong Seong Gyeong 706

God knows that the way of the Prin-
ciple cannot be walked without loving
one’s enemies. Would God let humanity
perish in the judgment of the Last Days?
No. He is the Parent of humankind. The
so-called judgment by fire spoken of in
Christianity today is not a literal one. (31-
165, 1970.5.24)

Let Us Fathom the Heart of Heaven

Sun Myung Moon
September 13, 1959

Matthew 10:24-39

The title of the sermon I am about to give is “Let Us Fathom the Heart of Heaven.” I will speak briefly upon this topic.

The most lonely person in the world is someone who has no one who recognizes or understands him. There is nothing more lonely and sad than to have no one who understands you. You may think that you fully understand yourself, but if you examine yourself objectively, you probably must admit that you do not.

We all have minds. Our mind is driving us toward a certain direction and toward a greater truth every minute of the day, transcendent of time and space. It is probably difficult to explain why this internal action has not taken root in us, although we sense that it has continued throughout history.

You may want to ask others to understand you and believe in you. You probably cannot deny that all your thoughts and convictions have been for the sake of connecting to a certain reality. If you then ask others to believe in you and trust you, you should ask whether or not you have first gained control over yourself and secured a position that is connected to the great purpose of Heaven. The answer is probably no.

Given this, how can we determine our own value today? We cannot accomplish a great purpose unless we first have the desire to become the subject partner who can move all things. We must examine ourselves as we put this desire into action and criticize ourselves with cold objectivity. If there is a God who seeks to fulfill the purpose of Heaven, then we cannot come before Him proudly without having done these things. Based on our own rational reasoning, we cannot deny that we cannot have pride in front of Heaven.

Who are our faith, desires and ideals for? Although they may seem to be for our own selves, in truth they do not have any relationship with us. Because human beings are in such a sad situation, although we may possess ideals and desires in our hearts, they clash with the sad reality of ourselves. We know through our reading of the Bible that this is why prophets and saints in the past advocated that we seek to embody ideals in our lives and be in harmony with them. They struggled bitterly to realize this goal, yet they could not accomplish it. We are awaiting the day this goal can be reached.

Everything in the universe, including human beings, was created to be in reciprocal relationships. If there is Heaven, then there is also earth. If there is a mind, then there is also a body. When we ponder things from this worldview, we find that if there is a movement of the heart, there must also be some subject partner who can move the mind. Whether you call this absolute being God, the Creator, or a deity is not important. At the very least, no one can deny that such a being must exist. If there is an absolute being, that absolute being has to have some connection to our minds in our daily lives as history flows. This is why human beings are capable of wishing for truer and better things.

Before we criticize or make a judgment based upon some reality, we first have to make some reciprocal condition based upon which to make the comparison. To make a logical argument, we need some basis of assumption first.

For this reason, in order to understand ourselves and explain ourselves fully, we need some reciprocal condition upon which to criticize and judge. This is the absolute being who is the object of worship in our faith. When we enter into a relationship with Him and compare ourselves and evaluate ourselves based on Him, we can understand where we stand. Thus, if we have minds, we have first to feel that there is some absolute being or some subject partner who governs our minds and moves us.

The absolute being is the ultimate goal which religions and philosophies should reach. The countless sages and saints sought longingly for the absolute being with whom they could build an eternal relationship of heart and with whom they could live, on whom they could base all their thoughts, worldviews and ideologies. Such are the numerous people who seek religion. That is what they are looking for.
