Cheon Seong Gyeong 2315

The citizens of God’s Kingdom are those who came forth hoisting the banner of serving all peoples. Hence, in order to save a certain race today we must distribute all our possessions for its sake. If that is not enough, we should be prepared to offer even our lives. Such people are indeed the citizens of heaven. You should think about God’s inner state of having to gather such people in order to realize the ideal of His kingdom. (5-17, 1958.11.9)

Cheon Seong Gyeong 1308

In the providence of indemnifying the vertical history horizontally in the present time, a foundation for restoration through indemnity had to be laid first; that was the reason for establishing the 36, 72 and 120 couples. Of these, the 36 Couples are the miniature versions of the 36 vertical generations of ancestors. The 72 Couples represent Cain and Abel, the next generation. Finally, the 120 Couples represent 120 nations in the world. Their number should correspond to the number of United Nations member countries, which actually were 120 at the time. It turned out to be exactly so in reality. (34-103, 1970.8.29)

Faith

For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will move this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
    Matthew 17.20

He who has in his heart faith equal to a single grain of mustard seed will not enter hell, and he who has in his heart as much pride as a grain of mustard seed will not enter Paradise.
    Hadith of Muslim (Islam)

[Jesus] said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” But he said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
    Luke 9.59-62

Those journeying to heaven do not look back; they ascend the heaven, the two worlds.
    Satapatha Brahmana 9.2.3.27 (Hinduism)

But Lot’s wife behind him looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
    Genesis 19.26

“My clothes are torn, I shall soon go naked,” or “I shall get a new suit”: a monk should not entertain such thoughts. At one time he will have no clothes, at another time he will have some. Knowing this to be a salutary rule, a wise monk should not complain about it.
    Uttaradhyayana Sutra 2.12-13 (Jainism)

For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Romans 8.38-39

Say: Lo! My worship and my sacrifice and my living and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
    Qur’an 6.162

Though the fig tree do not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will exult in the God of my salvation.
    Habakkuk 3.17-18
