Love Me More than Anyone

Happy 65th Anniversary of the founding of HSA-UWC (The Holy Spirti Association for the Unification of World Christianity) by Rev. Sun Myung Moon!

Psalm 89

38 You are now angry, God,
and you have turned your back
    on your chosen king.
39 You broke off your agreement
    with your servant, the king,
    and you completely destroyed
    his kingdom.
40 The walls of his city
    have been broken through,
    and every fortress
    now lies in ruin.
41 All who pass by
    take what they want,
    and nations everywhere
    joke about the king.

42 You made his enemies powerful
    and let them celebrate.
43 But you forced him to retreat
    because you did not fight
    on his side.
44 You took his crownd]
and threw his throne
    in the dirt.
45     You made an old man of him
    and put him to shame.

Eccliastes 9

12 None of us know when we might fall victim to a sudden disaster and find ourselves like fish in a net or birds in a trap.

Richard;  Prayerful humility and gratitude is always a good attitude to have.

God’s Will Which We Must Untangle

Matthew 10:34-39

Matthew 18:15-20

Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34) It was an amazing proclamation. The people of Israel thought of the Messiah as the king of peace, the Savior who will redeem the sins of all people; but Jesus announced this surprising proclamation. It was a single proclamation that violated everything that existed, in the aspect of society, nation, family and personal level.

He then spoke, “For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s foes will be those of his own household.” (Matthew 10:35-36) How can this be? Moreover, he continued, “He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:37-38) Jesus then further stated, “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Matthew 10:39) These words are certainly the greatest contradiction of the viewpoint of that period.

Two thousand years have passed since the time of Jesus. If we understand the time of Jesus as the consolidating and unifying period of dispensation, then the words spoken at that time should be fulfilled in the period of last days. All the unsolved passages of the 66 books of the Bible should be resolved in the period of last days. The entangled world, the entangled sovereignty, the entangled society, family and individual should all be untangled in the period of the last days. What will happen to me then? You must think about this.

Jesus said, “Love me more than anyone.” It was indeed a most revolutionary statement. In this statement, the concept of loving one’s parents, loving one’s children, and loving one’s husband or wife is never mentioned. God recognizes that this world is the fallen world. From where did our history begin? It is the history that started from the illicit blood relationship between Adam, Eve and Satan, centering on Satan. The history began from the illicit relationship with the archangel. God cannot allow we, the nation and the people, who multiplied upon that foundation, to multiply the seed of evil, centering on evil. This is where God’s pain lies.

A True Individual Has Come to Liberate Heavenly Father’s Sorrow

Luke 11

37 When Jesus finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him home for a meal. Jesus went and sat down to eat.[e] 38 The Pharisee was surprised that he did not wash his hands[f] before eating. 39 So the Lord said to him:

You Pharisees clean the outside of cups and dishes, but on the inside you are greedy and evil. 40 You fools! Didn’t God make both the outside and the inside?[g] 41 If you would only give what you have to the poor, everything you do would please God.

42 You Pharisees are in for trouble! You give God a tenth of the spices from your gardens, such as mint and rue. But you cheat people, and you don’t love God. You should be fair and kind to others and still give a tenth to God.

43 You Pharisees are in for trouble! You love the front seats in the meeting places, and you like to be greeted with honor in the market. 44 But you are in for trouble! You are like unmarked graves[h] that people walk on without even knowing it.

45 A teacher of the Law of Moses spoke up, “Teacher, you said cruel things about us.”

46 Jesus replied:

You teachers are also in for trouble! You load people down with heavy burdens, but you won’t lift a finger to help them carry the loads. 47 Yes, you are really in for trouble. You build monuments to honor the prophets your own people murdered long ago. 48 You must think that was the right thing for your people to do, or else you would not have built monuments for the prophets they murdered.

49 Because of your evil deeds, the Wisdom of God said, “I will send prophets and apostles to you. But you will murder some and mistreat others.” 50 You people living today will be punished for all the prophets who have been murdered since the beginning of the world. 51 This includes every prophet from the time of Abel to the time of Zechariah,[i] who was murdered between the altar and the temple. You people will certainly be punished for all of this.

52 You teachers of the Law of Moses are really in for trouble! You carry the keys to the door of knowledge about God. But you never go in, and you keep others from going in.

53 Jesus was about to leave, but the teachers and the Pharisees wanted to get even with him. They tried to make him say what he thought about other things, 54 so that they could catch him saying something wrong.

Richard:  Wow, this is the first time that I got the exact reading from the speech of Rev. Moon that we are studying.  God and Father in heaven are emphasizing that they are very unhappy with the current situation of “leaders” in the Unification Movement.  Especially, the Rod of Iron ministry is grieving Father, because it is not at all what he has taught in his word.  Yet, people at the Sanctuary Church are thinking that Pastor Hyung Jin is uplifting Father’s teaching, which is obviously not true:  https://youtu.be/s9zmyZbEDhE.

Ecclesiastes 11

11 Be generous, and someday
    you will be rewarded.[a]
Share what you have
    with seven or eight others,
because you never know
    when disaster may strike.
Rain clouds always bring rain;
trees always stay
    wherever they fall.
If you worry about the weather
and don’t plant seeds,
    you won’t harvest a crop.

The Person Who Will Serve the Grieving Father

Matthew 23: 1-39

The passages read were the words of a final curse that flowed out of Jesus’ sorrowful heart. He soon was to pass away on the path he had chosen, yet he was unable to establish the will in front of the Israelites, of whom he had so many expectations, dreams and hopes.

Centering on these words, I will speak to you on the topic of “The Person Who Will Serve the Grieving Father.”

People today are longing for a happy life. They also long for a world of freedom in their hearts. Yet the reality is such that what is expected and longed for in the heart is in discord with the actual aspects of our lives.

Because we cannot possess something in our hearts that will allow us to take dominion over and rid ourselves of the things that are in discord, even for a day, we cannot go where our hearts long for in spite of our desire to do so. We also feel and have felt in our lives our inability to carry out the things for which our hearts long.

Amid this reality, we see that we do not have any ideology with which to overcome ourselves, nor any means to take control over our environment. While we embrace hope and sing aloud in our lives, we always feel sorrow within our hearts. Today and yesterday, every day, we lead a life of such sorrow. Noah Appeared to be a Madman

Joshua 24

17 The Lord is our God. We were slaves in Egypt as our ancestors had been, but we saw the Lord work miracles to set our people free and to bring us out of Egypt. Even though other nations were all around us, the Lord protected us wherever we went. 18 And when we fought the Amorites and the other nations that lived in this land, the Lord made them run away. Yes, we will worship and obey the Lord, because the Lord is our God.

Ecclesiastes 11

Be cheerful and enjoy life while you are young! Do what you want and find pleasure in what you see. But don’t forget that God will judge you for everything you do.

10 Rid yourself of all worry and pain, because the wonderful moments of youth quickly disappear.

The Path of Faith Which Should be Examined Carefully

Sun Myung Moon
April 12, 1959

Matthew 11: 1-30

You should look and be careful in your speaking, hearing, seeing and feeling now. How hard have you tried to fulfill the historical responsibility? Have you ever surrendered everything and come forward, disregarding difficulties, anger, being chased away, hunger and death? How careful a heart have you had?

How often have you been overwhelmed by the Shim Jung that burns with a sense of responsibility, and desired to regain it? How often have you examined whether the heavenly hand was guiding you within your circumstances, reaching out to you, thereby coming to deny your previous position and embarking upon a new reflection? If you have not had such an experience, you should feel that you cannot show your faces.

In the Garden of Eden, the archangel was created first. The archangel had been ruling over the environment. When Adam and Eve appeared, he became an attacker. This was the beginning of history. Human beings, who insisted on habit and tradition in history, always opposed God’s way. They never cooperated. As the ancestors are, so are the descendants. Those who were being driven away have been leading history, fighting all the while.

It was thus with Noah as he served Heaven. To those who insisted on the social tradition, he appeared to be a madman. He looked demented, ridiculous and stupid. It was the same with Abraham. He tried to kill Isaac, whom God had blessed him with at the age of one hundred years. It was the same with Moses. Who instigated the people to accuse, betray and drive out the people of mission? They were the ones who clung to the historical traditions. If there is a Heaven, they should receive its judgment. The ideology of restoration is to sever attachment to the historical details, to take off the old clothes of the past, to meet the new morning in the new garden, and to appear in white clothes with new hope. Romans 4

Are these blessings meant for circumcised people or for those who are not circumcised? Well, the Scriptures say that God accepted Abraham because Abraham had faith in him. 10 But when did this happen? Was it before or after Abraham was circumcised? Of course, it was before.

11 Abraham let himself be circumcised to show that he had been accepted because of his faith even before he was circumcised. This makes Abraham the father of all who are acceptable to God because of their faith, even though they are not circumcised. 12 This also makes Abraham the father of everyone who is circumcised and has faith in God, as Abraham did before he was circumcised.

Ecclesiastes 7

A good reputation
    at the time of death
is better than loving care
    at the time of birth.[a]
It’s better to go to a funeral
    than to attend a feast;
funerals remind us
    that we all must die.
Choose sorrow over laughter
because a sad face
    may hide a happy heart.

The title I will speak on today is “History of the Providence of Restoration through Indemnity.” People in general, people in the secular world will not know what this is about.

Today, we refer to God’s providence as the providence of salvation. It is easy to talk about how He conducts His providence of salvation, but until now no one knew this content. Only God knew it.

So why was it that only God knew? When human beings fell, they fell without knowing. They fell without knowledge and in ignorance. For this reason, God has been conducting His spiritual work throughout human history so that human beings could escape from the realm of ignorance. A person who is in ignorance, who is in the environment of ignorance cannot just leave by claiming to know everything. There is the fallen world with problems a person cannot just solve and leave.

Because human beings fell, they live with the results of the fall.

In the providence of salvation, God exists and He conducts His providence to save humanity from the world of ignorance, the world of the fall. And the realm that has fallen into the results that are opposite to the path that God goes, the realm centered on Satan that is opposite to God, always obstructs. So we cannot go this way without resolving all the things that obstruct us. This was where indemnity was absolutely necessary in the course of history. When a person commits a crime and goes to prison, he must pay for his crime or set some other condition to be released. Then he needs to go through a process of defense before this can be officially acknowledged. Only then can he be released. So the term indemnity refers to the absolute need to correct things that have gone wrong in the course of history. Continue reading “How God has Worked to Save Humankind”

Jesus Needed to Establish a Bride

Exodus 1

20-21 God was good to the two women because they truly respected him, and he blessed them with children of their own.

The Hebrews kept increasing 22 until finally, the king gave a command to everyone in the nation, “As soon as a Hebrew boy is born, throw him into the Nile River! But you can let the girls live.”

Eccliastes 8

Life is hard, but there is a time and a place for everything, though no one can tell the future. We cannot control the wind[a] or determine the day of our death. There is no escape in time of war, and no one can hide behind evil. I noticed all this and thought seriously about what goes on in the world. Why does one person have the power to hurt another?

Richard:  We should not take ourselves too serously.  Life should be balanced.

True Parents Day 1966 excerpts
Rev. Sun Myung Moon

Who is Jesus? He is the second Adam who came in place of Adam. So, he needed to establish a bride who would be the second Eve. Wasn’t that necessary for him to reestablish the position of parents? He needed to reestablish that which was lost, so he needed to establish an object partner who would work with him for the sake of God.

A man represents heaven, and a woman represents earth. Jesus came as a groom representing all men, so he needed to establish a bride. The people of Israel at Jesus’ time, however, did not understand Jesus will. The disciples, too, did not understand his will, so they could not help him.

This was supposed to have been accomplished in Joseph’s family. When this was not done, Jesus could not become the True Parent. Joseph’s family needed to understand that God had blessed their family at the climax of His four-thousand-year providence. They needed to bear total responsibility for their era and fulfill their responsibility. Also, it was Jesus’ mission to accomplish God’s will through the family of Joseph. For this reason, Jesus assailed his parents on three occasions. The parents did not know God’s will, however, and finally could not understand Jesus’ will.
