Summary:
Hoondokhwae, the daily practice of reading the eight sacred texts designated by Rev. Moon, must be done by every blessed husband and wife for at least one hour every morning or evening, a strict standard that True Father himself never breaks even when exhausted from global tours. Members are expected to constantly read these books—such as Blessed Family and the Ideal Kingdom and the Divine Principle—wherever they are, carrying a book in their pocket and recording their reading hours. True Father explains that the word “hoondok” means flowing like a river and “selling” or sharing God’s words with others, as keeping these words to yourself is a spiritual mistake. Because these texts are God’s own words spoken through True Father and record his victories over the satanic world, reading them repeatedly until they become a part of you has the revolutionary power to move your heart and body. Ultimately, Hoondokhwae is True Father’s way of passing down the priceless spiritual treasures he gathered through a lifetime of extreme hardship, and members must be diligent in studying them to stay healthy and build a victorious foundation on earth.

Reading Rev. Moon’s Words Is Crucial

    The spirit world up until the present day has carried out numerous spiritual works in mainstream religious history. These mainstream works had to connect to a certain line of relationship with the physical world. Spirit people cannot come to earth and carry out their works as they please. They are blocked from doing that. Unless a bridge is built by way of religion, only a few special people can return to earth. Factions were created within Judaism. When they come down from the spirit world, the mainstream cannot come in a straight line. When different factions of Judaism each make their own spiritual offerings, the mainstream moves back and forth accordingly.
    Therefore, for those coming down from the spirit world, only the ones who are connected with the mainstream can come down. Otherwise, they cannot come and co-operate through the process of returning resurrection.
    Eventually, people on earth will also go to the spirit world. Once in the spirit world, if they want to come down to the next generation, they have to follow the same principle. Yet, only a few special ones will be able to do so. (102-29, 1978.11.19)

    When you are born, do you have your eyes closed or open? Then did you decide when you would open your eyes or did you do so naturally? Were you taught to suckle the breasts of your mother for milk or not? If not, how did you come to do so? There is an invisible magnetic bond there, that is to say, there is a principled path for everything that engages in action. In view of this, we need to understand that all actions do not take place by mere chance.
    Evolutionists today say, “The universe developed on its own. It came into being naturally.” The question is: how could it come into being naturally? How could it just develop from nothing? Can it come into existence without a cause, motive, process or result? Motive and cause come first, and then direction. Then why does direction come in here? Does a baby go a certain way with the consciousness, “I should go this way”? Why do the eyes open? As soon as your eyes are opened, do you look inwards or outwards? Why should you look that way? Where does such direction come from? How does it come about? From this, we can perceive that beings exist to follow a certain purpose. (94-10, 1977.6.19)

To be a child of filial piety, you should know what kind of people your parents are. Do you really know what kind of people they are? Have you ever considered whether your knowledge of your parents comes just from the teachings you have received, or do you truly know them? You have come to the Unification Church and are walking the path of sons and daughters of filial piety. But you used to be little babies with dirty diapers. You used to be little babies biting and sucking your mother’s milk. You grew up that way, receiving your parents’ love. If there is a philosophy which is the best one in this world, it must be the parent-centered philosophy. Parent-centered philosophy is the best. You are not little children anymore. You all must learn. This is what parents want.

What are a righteous conscience, righteous actions, and mind-body unity based on? Words alone are not enough. Actions alone are not enough. Where is the place where complete mind-body unity occurs? The answer lies first in achieving perpendicularity. To achieve that, establish a standard that can stand upright as the center of the worldwide horizontal plane. Become exemplary people who can be connected to the world wherever you go, be it the East or the West. As a living encyclopedia, I use words that are not in an encyclopedia. Two-thirds of the words I use are not in the encyclopedia. Therefore, I have already made a unified encyclopedia. It just needs to be recorded. It is already made. Therefore, the creation in the cultural world cannot become one without the emergence of a unified encyclopedia. If there are two, then there are two encyclopedias; if there are three, there are three encyclopedias; and if there are four, there are four encyclopedias. And so there are four, including the communist encyclopedia, the Soviet Union encyclopedia, the USA encyclopedia and the Indian encyclopedia.

In making an encyclopedia, in Korea the English language that connects it to the US has already come in, as have the Russian language and the Chinese language. That is also true for North Korea. North Korea is staying between the two, the Soviet Union and China, and sucking their blood. Kim Il Sung inherited everything of communism, both physically and spiritually, and prepared the foundation on which to approach the democratic world.

They have reached the third generation, right? First Kim Il Sung, next Kim Jung Il, and who’s next? [It is Kim Jung Woon.] At the time I performed the coronation ceremony in Korea, Kim Jung Il announced that he will pass on his position to his heir. It is Kim Jung Woon, and the Chinese character for Woon stands for cloud.

I have cleared up everything so that they cannot dispute me in any way. I make them say, “We have lost. We have lost in the Old Testament Age of the formation stage and the religious realm in the growth stage.” Though the communists deny the existence of the spiritual world, the communist ancestors in the spiritual world have come and testified to the fact that the spiritual world is united. How, then, could the communists hold on to the religious realm of the democratic world and act as their king?

Raise your hands if you are blessed children. Stand up. Everyone knows this. They have taken part with their fathers and their mothers. You are the ones who represent the connection of the blood and flesh of your fathers and mothers in the boiling concave vessel of the same love. It is not your mothers or your fathers.

You need to know it is a tradition inheriting the bloodline of God. The people who are kings, and next the democracy of the US and other isms and so forth have all been broken down. Centering on the second generation, the parents, grandfathers and the kingships are being educated with this book (True Families; Gateway to Heaven) in the Hoon Dok Hae sessions of the blessed families.

Once you inherit the tradition of the standard of the Hoon Dok families, the entire universe will come within the realm of the royal family of the Heavenly Kingdom all at once. I have made such a textbook. Whose textbook is this? Among you, and your mothers and fathers, there are those who drink, smoke, have affairs and do all kinds of things, aren’t there? There are also those who sell their sexuality. How can such people be saved?

You have been educated with this book, and have become one with your mothers and fathers and begun at the same place with them because you have inherited the bloodline of God at the same place. For this reason you can rise to the position of your parents. You can stand in that position in the stead of your parents. Until now, you have been the slave of your mothers and fathers, but with this book, you will become the owner. If your mothers and fathers can’t do it, there still remains the second generation, and each and every family of the second generation in the world can be taken into our embrace and educated.

    We are in the era of “High Noon Settlement”, where there are no dark shadows.
    The providence has moved through eight vertical stages over the course of history.  This providence was concluded by True Parents, True Father and his bride, True Mother, fulfilling their respective portions of responsibility.
    The providence has also moved through eight horizontal stages, from the individual, then family up to the Cosmos (spiritual and physical worlds, together), up to God.  This providence has been concluded on earth.
    Since January 1, 1999, ceremonies were performed for the liberation of ancestors.  Ancestors are to return tot he physical world so that the evil spirit world will be dissipated and the good spirit world of the original creation is opened up.
    Blessed families are to become Divine Tribal Messiahs and after educating their descendants and tribe in Wolli Boncheron and the absolute sex teaching, bless them and guide them to do hoon dok (gathering for reading and learning with the Eight Great Textbooks) at home. In this way, blessed families should bring their ancestors who have returned from SW and all the members of their earthly clan to become God’s children and together drive out, from both the SW and the PW, the evil forces that center on Satan, thus accomplishing the world of God’s creation ideal.

    It is the same with religion. How did religions begin? Saints founded all of the religions. They are the lords of the religions. They all started out from positions where they could receive instruction from God through practicing devotion and reaching an enlightened state; however, after the religions developed to a higher level, they became more and more secularized.
    That is why there are no religious organizations that can guide this world out of its whirlpool of confusion and onto the proper path with very clear and essential guidelines. There are religious systems within regions, but there is no religious system that can embrace and solve the situation of the entire world.
    Religions have all completed their tests. All have been tested. Politics and all the various ideologies have been tested. They have all performed disappointingly. All have reached a limit that not one can go beyond. (253-13, 1994.1.1)

The Blessing is the resolution of original sin and changing of the fallen bloodline of Satan by True Parents, resulting in the inheritance of God’s lineage.
    True Father, Rev. Moon globalized the Blessing of marriage leading up to 1997.  Millions of couples received the Blessing of marriage.  Father bequeathed to humanity the tradition of ‘Hoon Dok Hwe’, studying and living the teachings of True Father in 1997.  The Unification Church was dissolved, and the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification started on August 31, 1996.  Many other providential speaking tours and ceremonies were performed between 1994 and 1999.
    Upon this victorious foundation, Satan naturally surrendered to True Parents on March 21, 1999 in the Pantanal. Satan, who tormented God and refused to surrender for 6000 years even though he betrayed God and caused Adam and Eve to fall, finally, for the first time, surrendered naturally to the True Parent.
