    In today’s world, there are many people who commit suicide by taking sleeping pills or in other ways. Do more women commit suicide or more men? More women. Why? Women tend to have a one-track mind.
    However ugly a man might be, he is able to approach a problem from different perspectives. Women see only one way out of a problem, but men avoid death by finding viable alternatives. As such, they have a lower suicide rate than women. (222-69, 1991.10.28)

Everyone wants to become God’s son or daughter. This is the original principle of creation and we were supposed to become like that, but human beings who should have been born into such a lineage were dragged away by the enemy and inherited the blood of Satan, the enemy of God’s love. As children, you are destined to inherit the fortune of your grandparents and parents. Why do you need grandparents? They represent the past—they embody the living history of the past. Parents represent the present age and children represent the future. Thus, the family connects the past, present and future, as well as East, West, North and South. Grandparents, parents, children and God—the center of them all is true love. Think about whether it is this way in your family. By loving and respecting your grandfather and grandmother, you inherit everything from the past and learn from the past. From your father and mother you learn about the present. By loving and cherishing your children, you learn about the future… The three-generation family is like the entire universe. It is like a textbook to learn how to love the universe. Hence, if there isn’t a grandmother or a grandfather in your family, you may feel insecure. (162:140, April 5, 1987)

[In a traditional family] the grandfather and grandmother, the bride’s mother-in-law, father-inlaw, and sister-in-law, and the grandchildren should all live together. What is the center? God. Centering on God, three generations are settled—formation, growth and completion. Hence, children need to know how to love not just their father and mother, but also their grandfather and grandmother. They should honor their grandfather and grandmother with a higher status than their father and mother. Loving them is the way for the children to love God. (128:18, May 29, 1983)

Grandparents represent God in heaven; their position is like Heaven. As the elders in the family, our grandparents bring Heaven to us. That is why you need to attend them as the representatives of God. Think of them as representatives of the King of Heaven and serve them as you would serve God. This teaching is one of the traditions of the ideal family. (251:219, October 17, 1993)

If the husband and wife fight, the grandfather and grandmother will say, “Now, now. Don’t do that!” When the children fight or the grandchildren fight, they say, “Now, now. Don’t do that!” In this way, with love, they play the role of a servant. They live for the sake of the other members of the family, telling each of them, “You are in a high position. You are wonderful.” Grandparents play the role of the servant of love to the greatest extent… The greatest, most amazing and most powerful person in the universe is the person who walks the way of the servant of love. (135:121-22, October 4, 1985)

It is wonderful when a daughter-in-law loves her grandmother and grandfather so much that she always buys better things for them than for her husband. She may be good-looking, and the old grandfather and grandmother may be all wrinkled, yet whenever she goes shopping she looks to buy something for them, something finer than what she buys for her husband, and she does it with a more joyful heart. What a wonderful scene! If she does that, then the grandfather and grandmother will give her everything they had hidden away—everything having to do with love.
    Who is the oldest being in the world? It is God. Therefore, you learn from loving your grandfather how to love God and live for His sake. When you learn this tradition, you can receive all the treasures of love stored in Grandfather God’s secret warehouse. It is wonderful! (107:329, June 8, 1980)

It is true that many grandchildren and daughters-in-law hate to see the cane their grandfather carries about.28 Perhaps they wish the grandfather an early death? Rather, good grandchildren and daughters-in-law who have loving hearts would think, “Oh God, when the cane disappears someday, I will be drenched in tears.” (184:270, January 1, 1989)

If the people of a nation hold the elderly in contempt, eventually that nation will lose its national character. A person who doesn’t like old people is selling out the character and tradition of his nation. (21:120, November 17, 1968)

3. Satan the Accuser

When a man sins, he draws to himself numbers of evil spirits and emissaries of punishment, before whom he shrinks back in fear. Solomon was conversant with the mysteries of wisdom, and God set upon his head the crown of royalty, and the whole world feared him. When, how-ever, he sinned, he drew to himself multitudes of evil and punitive spirits, of whom he was much frightened, so that they could maltreat him and take away his precious possessions. In truth, a man by his actions is always drawing to himself some emissary from the other world, good or evil according to the path which he treads.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the lord, and Satan also came among them. The lordsaid to Satan, “Whence have you come?” Satan answered the lord, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the lord said to Satan, “Have you con-sidered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Then Satan answered the lord, “Does Job fear God for naught? Hast Thou not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. Teachings of Rev. Sun Myung Moon

Satan is constantly accusing all people before God, as he did Job, in order to drag them into hell. However, even Satan cannot perpetrate his evil activity unless he first finds an object partner with whom he can form a common base and engage in give and take action. Satan’s object partners are evil spirits in the spirit world. The object partners to these evil spirits are the spirit selves of evil peo-ple on the earth, and the vehicles through which these evil spirit selves act are their physical selves. Accordingly, the power of Satan is conveyed through evil spirits and is manifested in the activities of earthly people. For example, Satan entered into Judas Iscariot (Luke 22.3), and Jesus once called Peter “Satan.” (Matt. 16.33) In the Bible, the spirits of evil earthly men are called “angels” of the devil. (Matt. 25.41)
The Kingdom of Heaven on earth is a restored world in which Satan can no longer instigate any activity. To realize this world, it is necessary for all humanity to eliminate their common base with Satan and not engage in give and take action with him. The prophecy that in the Last Days God will confine Satan in a bottomless pit signifies that Satan will be utterly incapable of any activity, since there will no longer be any counterparts with whom Satan can relate. (Exposition of the Divine Principle, Fall 4.2)

Why doesn’t Satan release his claim on human beings? He asserts to God, “Didn’t You set up the principle of creation that dominion is based on love? Whether my love was lawful or unlawful doesn’t matter; I definitely loved Adam and Eve. Isn’t love the original basis for dominion? Since I loved Adam and Eve, I have a right to claim them [and their descendants] under my dominion. I will not relinquish my claim over human beings to You unless You love me more than I loved them.” (128:90, June 5, 1983)

God says to Satan, “Satan, when human beings were originally created you could not accuse them; you could not even put one finger on them.” Satan counters, “I already know that. However, accord-ing to the Principle, once we come to love someone, we should belong to that person for eternity. Isn’t that the law of love? I won humans by love, even though it was illicit love, so their relationship to me has to be eternal.” God retorts, “According to the Principle, since I created human beings, they should be My sons and daughters. The relationship you made with them was unlawful.” God is speaking out of truth, but Satan is also basing his argument on the Principle. (111:147, February 10, 1981)

God has been fighting against Satan internally and against evil people externally, but in fighting He does not act capriciously in violation of His own laws. God never fights in a way that would violate the laws of the universe. Jesus also never fought outside the laws of Heaven.
Accordingly, when we wage the universal fight in the Last Days, we must understand the laws of Heaven and learn how to fight in accordance with those laws. Although you might not be aware of it, Satan also cannot be so insolent as to fight in a way that transgresses the laws of Heaven.
For this reason, when you set conditions of restoration and fight Satan, if you deviate from the Will of God, then Satan will accuse you. Even Jesus was not exempt. Whoever violates the principle, Satan will attack without mercy. (2:176-77, April 14, 1957)

What are the contents of the truth?
However great anyone may be, they can-
not stand in the place of your parents,
spouse or children. What is the highest
of all truths? Parents, spouses and chil-
dren. There is nothing higher. Then what
is the center of the truth? It is love. From
such a principled viewpoint, what is the
center of the highest truth? People say
that God is the Original Being of truth,
goodness, love and life. What does this
mean? They all mean the same. The truth
cannot be established without love and
life. Those who want to become people
who can talk about the real truth must
have the will and desire for the truth
within their lives. Here, desire stands in
a reciprocal position to your standard of
personality. So what is the nucleus? As
the Original Being of life, love and truth,
what kind of being is God? He is the
Father and simultaneously the Mother
of humankind. Parents are the nucleus.

How did Satan manage to oppose
God for six thousand years? Until now
Satan has been holding the Principle
in front of God. Satan says, “God, can
You punish me? If You want to punish
me You must destroy heaven and earth
first. When You created me, didn’t You
intend to love me with the love belong-
ing to the completion level, even though
it would be only a love meant for an
archangel?” Even the archangel must
receive love that belongs to the com-

pletion level even though it is the type
of love befitting the archangel. So, the
archangel would ask God, “When did
You love me at the completion level?”
Even God gets trapped at this point.
Did God love the archangel at the
completion level? No, He was not able
to. Only after God has loved the arch-
angel in the Garden of Eden, in the free
heaven and earth, with the love belong-
ing to the completion level, is God’s
responsibility fulfilled. Otherwise, God
is trapped and He cannot move. (37-254,

Your home church members will see visions of
me and also of you. When they are open like that,
then they will realize they are to live as one family.
Love will open their eyes. When you link that love to
one home church and it connects it to another and
so on, it will form an unbreakable chain of love
which no one, not even God, can cut. This link will
be sustained directly by the spirit world. The home
church course is the miracle of miracles. The
fact that I could announce the providence of
home church within 24 years is a miracle: compare
that to the little that Christians have achieved in
2,000 years. All the providential events are culmi-
nated in home church, the center of the dispensa-

Home church is a very precious blessing for
you, because through it I am giving you a
condition to go beyond the fall of man. You are
an invincible force, advancing like a tidal wave to
cleanse your home church, undeterred by any
opposition. Your certification as a man or woman
of God will be signed by the hostile people you
meet in home church. You should feel that home
church is a cause for gratitude, not a burden.
Home church is a short-cut to the Kingdom of

When I say that home church is the base of the
Kingdom of Heaven, I mean that it is a launching
pad like the pads at Cape Kennedy. Each of you is
building a rocket: to construct the engine on the
base is the most difficult task, and then you can
build your way up and up to the capsule, where
you can stay. Once you have finished constructing
it, all you have to do is push the button and lift

through all things God has said and done and
through which He wants us to inherit His broken

Once every several thousand years. the rope
passes overhead. The Unification Church is that
rope and we are the ones who grabbed it. It is a

around not only your body but around

as your lover and love the people
there more than you have ever loved

9 Are these blessings meant for circumcised people or for those who are not circumcised? Well, the Scriptures say that God accepted Abraham because Abraham had faith in him. 10 But when did this happen? Was it before or after Abraham was circumcised? Of course, it was before.

11 Abraham let himself be circumcised to show that he had been accepted because of his faith even before he was circumcised. This makes Abraham the father of all who are acceptable to God because of their faith, even though they are not circumcised. 12 This also makes Abraham the father of everyone who is circumcised and has faith in God, as Abraham did before he was circumcised.

The title I will speak on today is “History of the Providence of Restoration through Indemnity.” People in general, people in the secular world will not know what this is about.

Today, we refer to God’s providence as the providence of salvation. It is easy to talk about how He conducts His providence of salvation, but until now no one knew this content. Only God knew it.

So why was it that only God knew? When human beings fell, they fell without knowing. They fell without knowledge and in ignorance. For this reason, God has been conducting His spiritual work throughout human history so that human beings could escape from the realm of ignorance. A person who is in ignorance, who is in the environment of ignorance cannot just leave by claiming to know everything. There is the fallen world with problems a person cannot just solve and leave.

Because human beings fell, they live with the results of the fall.

In the providence of salvation, God exists and He conducts His providence to save humanity from the world of ignorance, the world of the fall. And the realm that has fallen into the results that are opposite to the path that God goes, the realm centered on Satan that is opposite to God, always obstructs. So we cannot go this way without resolving all the things that obstruct us. This was where indemnity was absolutely necessary in the course of history. When a person commits a crime and goes to prison, he must pay for his crime or set some other condition to be released. Then he needs to go through a process of defense before this can be officially acknowledged. Only then can he be released.
